Thunder a good young team

That’s how you rebuild and not half ass things. Trade your mediocre veterans, tank for a few years, draft good young talent, and actually give them playing time to develop

by him_joke_NOAHmore on Mar 19, 2010 7:45 PM CDT up reply actions

they sure had plenty of bad-mediocre years after 1998 to now

had they not got Rose…Gordon, Deng, Hinrich weren’t gonna be enough to take them past the first or second round

"Vinny think, THINK!" - Some knowledgeable fan

by him_joke_NOAHmore on Mar 19, 2010 7:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Well if we're talking from the time they drafted Durant, then sure.

But the Sonics/Thunder were a bad team for 5 seasons until now.

They’ve made some nice strides, but let’s see how they retain that team when it comes time to hand out a max contract to Durant, 70 million for Westbrook, 60 million for Green.

by Ozzie Montana on Mar 19, 2010 7:52 PM CDT up reply actions

I think they made the right move when they traded their veterans to draft Durant and Green the same year

Tank/suck a few more years after that and shit happens. It beats being mediocre forever and continually drafting more average players in the middle of the rounds.

Might be hard to keep them in that small of a market though.

Wow

whoever taught taj that move should be fired

by tuff-gong on Mar 19, 2010 8:05 PM CDT reply actions

I absolutely believe

that if Acie Law had Pargo’s minutes this game, the score would be tied.

As amazing as it is, the lineup of Law, Hinrich, JJ, Taj, Miller is competitive with Cleveland.

Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."

by runningman on Mar 19, 2010 8:06 PM CDT reply actions

I logged in solely to express

my frustration of this, because I I think the neighbors could hear me yelling “take Pargo out of the $$% game” and I don’t want the cops called on me.

Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."

well if it makes you feel any better

I’m not very fond of Taj or Kirk myself tonight.

"How's your mother?"

"We all are. Act accordingly."

by louslovechild on Mar 19, 2010 8:18 PM CDT up reply actions

I haven't truly hated Vinny until today

But his insistence on playing Pargo for 17 minutes to Law’s 4, when it’s clear to anyone with eyes that Pargo is horrible at basketball, is unforgivable.

The Bulls are on a 9 game losing streak. There are no considerations except that the most effective players should be playing. Meanwhile Vinny seems content to ride Pargo to a 10th straight loss.

Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."

by runningman on Mar 19, 2010 8:23 PM CDT reply actions   2 recs

Absolutely no benefit in doing that

due to the option for Milwaukee to swap picks. Mgmt know this.

Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."

by runningman on Mar 19, 2010 8:25 PM CDT up reply actions

Almost impossible for the Bulls to fall

far enough to get a top 10 pick.

Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."

by runningman on Mar 19, 2010 8:28 PM CDT up reply actions

When you go this far out

it’s not even funny. There is no directive to play Pargo. Vinny is clearly stupid enough to decide this on his own.

Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."

Vinny was born with the top of his skull and half his brain missing

His mom put on that mullet wig you see (its all intertwined and fused and stuff now).

Pargo is the great unifier.

People debate TT vs. Taj, Deng’s value, Kirk…people even stick up for VDN in certain instances…but we all agree on Pargo sucking.

I'm curious what a pro-Pargo

argument would look like.

“Missed shots create offensive rebound opportunities”

Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."
