"I think if you hit something that doesn't move," Howard said, "you usually end up falling."
Dwight Howard on his collision with Rose.
This is obviously the second time Rose has gotten hurt this way and the second time Howard has made a jackass comment like this in the aftermath. Perhaps I'm being overly sensitive, but this guy seems like a grade-a asshole. The guy just got hurt, I doubt you did it on purpose, but quit with all the clown/superman bullshit for one second and just say something like, "Sorry it happened, hope he's alright." Howard always seemed like a goofy, but nice guy, but his act is getting tired imo.

I just have this feeling that some day down the road Derrick will dunk on Howard for all this.
A lot of people are talking about Karma on here so I wouldn’t be surprised to see that happen next season. Or if I could offer Rose some advice the next time you go to the whole in the 1st quarter against the Magic apply the pump fake dream shake. Gets them every time.
jeez i dont want to imagine
sometimes when i play against friends who arent really good at basketball, and i use that ‘dream shake’ they (just being athletic and a bit taller) tend to jump up and then ON TOP OF MY BACK…in the other words, the last thing i want to see is rose try the dream shake and have howard jump on top of him…
howard after the fall:
“well you know when superman comes down to earth hes bound to leave a crater”
On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!
Funny you mention that.
I did that the other week in a league i’m in and a 6"4 ~230 pounder went up, tried to grab me on the way down(to brace for the fall) and ended up landing on his head. It would serve Howard right to get injured the next time Derrick takes it to the hole against Orl.
Metal sharpens metal.
And this guy right here understands and knows what leadership is all about: The coach, the hall of famer......... Dick Butka! George Ryan
The Bulls shrink like a dick in cold water.
yea i flung my cousin once doing that
when i did the fake and he jumped, i got low and ducked down and he landed on my back, and our team was losing at the time so i was kind of in that angry mood, so when he landed on my back i just stood straight up, and he sort of flipped off my back and fell on his back, i guess to everyone else it seemed like an accident, but it was purposeful. Of course my cousin is tall and extremely skinny (probably weighs less than me while being 4-5 inches taller) so it was alot easier, i doubt rose could do that with dwight….

funny thing is, howard fell back quite a bit too. the only reasn why rose fell like he did is because
he was 3 feet in the air when the collision happened.
"Oooohhh, cat in the wall, eh? Now you're talkin' my language."
Exactly.
Howard wasn’t even close to not moving.

He's such an arrogant bastard dickwipe
but i cant help but loath Vince Carter so much more. maybe its because the skiles bulls could never beat the nets becasue carter hated nocioni, maybe its because of his annoying head-to-the-defenders-chest-drive he does, but i think its probably because both times rose went down when howard intentionally destroyed rose because van gundy told him to fouled rose, carter got this incredibly annoying “we’s gon win” swagger about him and started taking more threes than normal. its like he sees our best player his out, so he wants the blowout right fucking now.
Why aren't they selling Rose's all star jersey?
Looks like Mike McGraw agrees and appears to think Dwight is a jackass as well. It’s times like this that you wish Derrick wasn’t so soft spoken either, it would be nice to see him go at Dwight a little bit, hopefully next game he shows him what’s up.

Dwight Howard...i used to like you because you reminded me of a Shaq that didnt consider himself to be Jesus Christ in basketball form.
…those days are gone :(
Why aren't they selling Rose's all star jersey?
Again: 99% of the time, Dwight Howard is ripping off Shaq.
The other 1% of the time he’s an original asshole.
Just because a dude smiles for the cameras and spouts doggerel about Jesus doesn’t mean he’s a “good guy.” Both times he hit a player who was in the air – helpless – and he blamed the player when he got hurt. I look forward to the day that Dwight, also in the air, gets clipped and breaks a hip. Then we’ll hear him blame the ground – which also doesn’t move when you hit it.
What a dickhat.

What all of a sudden these other players get hurt and hes a bad guy? I think what happens on the court stays there can’t judge a players character off one incident or two.
Also what has he ripped from Shaq? Shaq doesn’t do impressions or long trick shots and the superman cape was a prop and other people started calling him that.
Also he doesn’t really say THAT much about his religion to the point of seeming like hes trying to convert people. The only things I see of him is thanking god or if someone asks on Twitter or whatever.
Everone named howard is a bad guy
its in his genes. He eats kitten..true story. Here’s the link for documentation purposes
He shouldn't spout off about Jesus(or try and get a cross put onto the NBA logo),
the guy’s got illegitimate kid(s).

He shouldn't spout off about Jesus
Because Jesus doesn’t care about basketball, and he wouldn’t care about a basketball player who can’t make his free throws.

The more a person talks about being a good Christian, the less likely that they are one.

There goes the theory of Howard being a jackass
"As a big man you never try to hurt anyone coming down the lane," said Howard, and no one felt the blow was unsportsmanlike. "Me and Derrick are cool, great player, great person. I always tell him when you come down the lane always come off two feet so that way you’ll be on balance. When you come off one all it takes is somebody’s body to hit you the wrong way and you’re going to fall. I hope there’s nothing seriously wrong with him. I never intended to hurt him. It was just the way it happened."

I still hate him for what he did, though

Whether he is an a-hole or not, intentional or not
someone should have knocked an orlando magic player on their ass. In the last 2 games Dwight Howard has hurt the Bulls best player in the 1st 5 minutes of the game. REVENGE!

That's what keeps frustrating me about James Johnson.
He needs to be our attack dog. He seems like too nice of a guy for it though. He needs to turn to the dark side like Matt Barnes. That’s his calling and he needs to stop denying it. Muay Thai shit.
hard pail lunch hat
Did you not see Joe Alexander
try and get revenge? Sign that man.
Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."
Add Stan to the "kind of a douche" list.
Magic coach Stan Van Gundy took the defense of his center a bit farther:
“You know, the thing on that play, looking at it, I don’t even think Dwight fouled him. I think Rose fouled Dwight. He pushed off.
“But regardless, Derrick goes in there with such unbelievable force that it was the same [as last month]. He’s going full speed and he’s hitting basically an immovable object and he lands tough. I feel really bad. I hope he’s not hurt badly.”
Derrick had the lane and Dwight jumped into Rose using his body to make contact. Of course Rose is gonna try to push off a little bit to create space and not get killed.

Crybabies, the lot of ya!
In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).
Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.

I don't know.
The first time I was like ok, two guys just had a collision but last night was very borderline. If it was just an average joe that might have been a flagrant foul. He didn’t really make a play on the ball.
If you look at it he doesn’t really touch Rose with his hands the arms are debatable but the most contact was from Roses off hand. When he did that Dwight fell back trying not to foul then he fell awkwardly….its a nobody likes goliath moment I suppose.

Wha
I think this is a bit of an overreaction here. I remember when Dwight collided with Rose and he got injured Dwights next blow and on Twitter he was saying how he hoped he was ok.
Not sure why peoplle key on him saying he thinks hes an immovable object either its irrelevant. Rose did push off but its still a foul on Howard for his size I think. He tried to block the shot like every big man should and Rose got injured again its not like hes James Posey.
People are so oversensitive...
not to mention (as you can see now) that this wasn’t the full quote. I like how people are trying to read into him being an ‘asshole’…this isn’t Inside Edition, this is basketball, and frankly getting mad over this is petty.

It's not like this is just the opinion of a few people on here
It seems like most of the beat writers for the Bulls felt the same way. And since they were there, I’ll go with that

Next Bulls-Magic game,
when Howard goes up to dunk, slip a foot in for him to land on so he rolls and ankle, then say “sorry” without meaning it.
Where are the old school players when you need them?
