should add

-long time lurker, extremely infrequent poster

Actually the ESPN announcers were better at calling it than King

King just gave the same ol’ crap we’ve heard before and actually thought he dunked over Crawford or something

hell ya!

the “now you gotta get something here”, set it up beautiful

I don't know what he was watching.

He kept saying Crawford was in a poster or something. He had no more a part in that dunk than the fans in the stands. Sick dunk, but nobody was posterized. Looks like whatever ails Neil is contagious. Lets hope Stacey gets it outta his system.

Go on YouTube and look up Shawn Kemp's top 10 dunks.

Odd I can get it overseas, but others can’t.

that was a great job by calabro

i love the emphasis on “thats a point guard!”

So sick.

almost Lebron-esque

I love that this kid is getting more aggressive

"You can't give up hope just because it's hopeless! You gotta hope even more, and cover your ears and go 'bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla!'"

by Teri on Feb 5, 2010 10:55 PM CST reply actions

I always think hes a better dunker than Lebron probably because hes a smaller guy but Iunno he just has it.

by Camry on Feb 5, 2010 11:28 PM CST up reply actions

lebron is an overrated dunker.

i’d rather watch derrick any day.

"They should. They better. I'm Vinny Del Negro!"

by Jaina on Feb 5, 2010 11:38 PM CST up reply actions

i like how derricks dunks are athletic as always, but are also getting increasingly more violent, which is a rare quality

to display consistently in dunking. only freaks like kemp, wilkins, pippen, young garnett and lebron make it seem like dunking results in an actual explosion. that derrick is beginning to join that crowd is pretty awesome.

"Oooohhh, cat in the wall, eh? Now you're talkin' my language."

by TheMoon on Feb 6, 2010 1:03 AM CST up reply actions

Yeah I agree Derrick is a better dunker

but he don’t do it often enough (or at least used to). I say it’s Lebron like because of that similar combo of athleticism and ease but powerful quality

"You can't give up hope just because it's hopeless! You gotta hope even more, and cover your ears and go 'bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla!'"

by Teri on Feb 6, 2010 1:26 AM CST up reply actions

yeah, i get what you were referring to

in terms of lebron quality… i’m just saying i’d rather watch derrick dunk any day cause lebron’s actual dunking is overrated.

"They should. They better. I'm Vinny Del Negro!"

by Jaina on Feb 6, 2010 10:27 AM CST up reply actions

Yeeaaahh D Rose I mean the crazy part to me is even when he was in high school the crowd had this same reaction no matter where he was doing it. Hes the only dunker right now that’ll get me out of my seat while watching a game.

They kind of remind me of Mj vs Wilkens. I always thought Jordan should of beaten him in that dunk contest because Mj use to kind of flow in the air and was a great mix power and finesse. While Wilkens leaned heavily to power it depends on what you like of course though.
I’d probably say Lebron maybe the most powerful dunker I’ve seen live.

seriously and fast, I think he is already starting to wear down because his jumpers have been so off lately.

So looking at this twice

after the dunk, the bulls only scored once, and ATL went on a spurt. WTF

just listen to the road crowd

that tells you how great it was. It sounded like the reaction at the dunk contest. A collective WOW!

by kingj41 on Feb 6, 2010 10:06 AM CST reply actions

I was at the game

While I was depressed at the loss, D-Rose’s 3 first-half dunks were fucking awesome. The best part about the play was the buzz it created in the arena, which seemed much larger on the side of the stadium where the dunk happened (better view and all).

If you re-watch the video, listen for the fan reaction. It was priceless.

(I was screaming my head off; don’t think it’s audible though).

I swear when the pass went up

I thought that was Tyrus he was throwing it to. It was so off target I figured he would have to catch it and come down first or lay it in. The whole thing was amazing from the catch to the the throw down to the landing.

Joakim on whether he ever tried tennis: "I played a little bit. If anybody on the Bulls wanted to play me, I would kick their ass."

The stare at Mo Evans

It just gives the whole thing a totally different atmosphere than if he had just turned and ran back to go on D.

Also, ‘nice strip.’ Yeah, no kidding.. if only our fuck-o coach could see that. Tyrus does that sort of shit all the time.

I was just watching John Wall dunks

cause I wanted to compare the two, since everyone seems to think John Wall is more athletic than Rose. I’m not a hater, John Wall seems like the real deal, but I don’t think he’s on Rose’s level when it comes to athleticism. Wall’s dunks look like they’re all arms, whereas Rose’s head is at the rim, he’s practically flying. They’ll definitely be two of the most athletic, but for all those people that wanna just dismiss D Rose for the next hot, young prospect, ummm… NO.

Neil takes the fun out of funk

by Juiceboxjerry on Feb 6, 2010 5:45 PM CST reply actions

Whoever said that???
Even some of the John Wall lovers I’ve talked to would usually preface their comparisons to Rose with him being the most athletic PG they’ve ever seen.

by Camry on Feb 6, 2010 7:21 PM CST up reply actions

I've heard several public sports personalities

talk about Wall being the better athlete, and maybe being the fastest point guard in the league when he gets drafted. He looks smooth, but Derrick’s quickness, not just speed, looks unparalleled to me.
