Game Preview #48 - Bulls at Atlanta Hawks
[Thanks to 'Orange Juice' for today's game preview -ed.]
So the last time the Bulls were in Atlanta, they were coming off a loss to the (still) lowly Nets and I was not very pumped to go to the game.
This time around, things are looking much better ... the Bulls recently came back from a great road trip winning 5 straight, Derrick Rose made the All-Star Team (I will be repping his jersey tonight!), and I got a sweet ticket deal that puts the jacked up UC ticket prices to shame. I'm so pumped ...
... well, not exactly. Of course the Bulls had to lose two in a row coming into tonight's game, and Noah is out until after the All-Star Break. It sucks that he won't get a chance to outplay All-Star Al Horford, who is not an All-Star (except for the fact that the coaches "had" to fill a reserve center spot). Anyone who watches the Hawks knows that Josh Smith deserved to be that 2nd All-Star after Joe Johnson. And even Jamal Crawford, future sixth-man of the year, merited more consideration.
So while I don't think we're gonna get blown out like last time, I'm not very optimistic about a Bulls win tonight. The Hawks have a top 5 league home record (20-5), coming off a day's rest after beating the Clippers at home (something we couldn't do earlier this week), and no Noah to run with the athletic Hawks hurts.
But here's to hoping Tyrus plays more, goes at it with fellow athletic freak Josh Smith, perhaps in a duel of future All-Stars? Haha wouldn't that be a trip. Looking forward to an aggressive DRose taking it to Bibby and Crawford, who both can't play defense. Maybe Chris Richard can neutralize his old Florida teammate Horford. And we'll all be watching to see if Joe Johnson (who's coming off two 30-pt games) is really worth pursuing as a FA this offseason.
Who do we want to play in the first round? Cleveland, Orlando, Boston, or ... Atlanta?

Orlando, Cleveland, Atlanta, Boston (assuming KG plays).

Oh
Who do we want to play in the first round? Cleveland, Orlando, Boston, or … Atlanta?
I wanna play Cleveland. I highly dislike the Cavs.
The Cavs without
The only thing working for the Cavs. Is Lecrab traveling his way to the rim, and the refs and ESPN on his jock 24/7. And his big ass floping when he gets tapped, and crying after every foul
Which kobe,Lbj, and Lamar (candyland) odom does as well.
Lecrab
Lebitch
Lecrybaby
Stern’s BFF (next to Kobe)
Lebroom (that was someone else)
And my personal favorite
Greg Oden’s long lost brother/ or son.
im sorry. youre full of shit and honor.

If you must know
I’m 21 and of course I made very clear that i don’t like lebron. I rather have anyone else thats good but lebron.
It is my opinion, even if you think its a stupid one.
Josh Smith should have been an allstar
without a doubt. dude a beast. I wish they were stupid enuff to trade him for Deng str8 up…Smith and Rose would give us highlights after highlights..
I am honestly in shock...
that there are still people out there who think Tyrus Thomas can be a future All-Star…I am hoping that you were being sarcastic.

And yet
there are some good players that still evolve from idiotic coaching. the NBA where even idiot coaches can have some success happens.
I’m not saying that T suck he’s just average. I blame both the coaching and him for not being better.
True
It is partially his fault for not being great. Like, developing post moves and adding muscle might have been a good idea.
Yeah
Noah was a bit bigger than he was. Noah was skinny and now looked more built. Tyrus looked the same since he came here. And when Tyrus was on the post, he did NOT want to be on the post he looked unconfortable. So yeah, its half coaching and half his fault.
I’m not going some routes like its all the coachings fault or all TT’s fault. Like some people do.
Hinrich has looked the same, too.
And has gotten worse. Why doesn’t anyone give him shit?
In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).
Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.
Because the expectations for Kirk are about as low as you can get.

I dont, I have been very critical of TT
hes just an average player. Who is bad on offense but good on defense for 4 years. So did I feel sorry for him? Nope hes rich why should I feel sorry for a rich young NBA player?
But VDN did screw him over the last game.
Pargo, Hunter, JJ, Richard, Miller.
Well at least I hope so… I got money on the Bulls losing by 21+.. ;)
Was ONE Wash caps goal away from 20’000 Bucks last nite…. Annoyed? Naaahhh…
I would love to see Pardo, Brown, Salmons, Richards, Miller for one quarter.
Come to think of it… that could be the 4th quarter lineup when Vinny concedes the game tonight. Hawks are -8.5 favorites according to Vegas. So… I wanna put a mix tap of that unit together and have ‘In The Air’ tonight by Phil Collins playing. The drumbs will come in right when Brad pump fakes and drives to the hoop and makes that ugly face and air balls the lay up looking for a foul!
Derrick Rose needs to drop a 40 bomb
if we’re to win this game. We may give up 125 to the Hawks without Noah.
Metal sharpens metal.
And this guy right here understands and knows what leadership is all about: The coach, the hall of famer......... Dick Butka! George Ryan
The Bulls shrink like a dick in cold water.
Even if he did drop 40, I doubt it would be enough.
His 30 against a much, much inferior opponent in his last game still resulted in a Bulls loss but now if he could score at least 50, I think the Bulls could win by at least one point..
If you can't answer a man's arguments, all is not lost. You can still call him vile names.

Sorry, this was supposed to be a reply to Dakoose saying Rose needed to score 40 for the Bulls to win.
Now if Tyrus could get 40 he would have to take at least 50 shots so I can’t really see Vinny letting him do that, especially since it is highly unlikely he’ll be on the court for more than 15 minutes.

Of course, the Bulls have to be on national TV after losing Noah. This is going to be fun.

Entertaining preview...but
…you are dead wrong about Horford. He is an All-Star. Watch him tonight.
I think tonight will be a difficult game without Noah

"Oh my gosh" Clippers.
They are talking about Isiah Thomas taking over Dunleavy’s duties.
Imagine that. One of the only GM/Coaches worse than Dunleavy over the last 10 years has to be Thomas.
This is the rare day that I’m thankful we have VDN, who is much cheaper than the both of them and much easier to fire/replace.
Talk about giant fuck ups, I really hope they decide against Thomas, for the sake of LAC fans everywhere.
Perhaps it won't be happening.
Some funny comments here:
Adrian Wojnarowski: Getting some fantastic texts/emails from league front office executives on Fox Sports story on Clipps contacting Isiah. Should I post a few? Front office responses on Isiah-to-Clips: “Initial reaction is that it’s not true, but it’s the Clippers so I’ll have to reserve judgment.” Another: “God help us all — no way!” The leader in the clubhouse: “You wonder why their (crap) is always (bleeped) up???” One final from a GM: “Man oh man, that would be the 7th sign of the Apocalypse…” Twitter.com
Adrian Wojnarowski: One final plea from a Western Conference exec. on reported Clips contact of Isiah Thomas to run operation: “Please God, let it be true.” Twitter.com
Anyways, thought this was worth posting in here for people to read and laugh at. Entertaining stuff as a basketball fan.
