i wasn't a fan of the 4 guard line up last season

and we had Gordon and Salmons instead of Pargo and Murray running it. That lineup may buy a couple of minutes, but VDN is foolish for thinking that lineup could get the Bulls back in the game. This was one of those games that make me remember VDN is a bad coach.

by Basketball Smurf on Feb 27, 2010 9:23 PM CST up reply actions

Why is anyone shocked?

Right after the Bulls beat the Pacers two games ago, I said “shocker, the Bulls beat a bellow .500 team at home”, then I said the Bulls would beat the Blazers (a legit playoff team), and go on the road and lose to a team they should dominate (Indiana). All this came true (and I know I’m not the only one who said or thought this), and the reason is either the players are to young (and not driven), or it is bad coaching, I guess it is a little of both.

Now I want to ask, will one person be shocked if the Bulls beat a playoff team in the Hawks on Monday, then lose to Memphis on Thursday (a bubble team) I won’t be. It is just how this team plays, end of story.

by JustinWF on Feb 27, 2010 9:30 PM CST reply actions

Oh, and one last thing....

That same team the Bulls beat last night (the Blazers) just beat the T-Wolves by 19, so so much for the no energy excuse that I have seen. The Blazers are just as young as the Bulls, so energy shouldn’t be an excuse. Maybe this was (and has been) all about coaching.

by sue369 on Feb 27, 2010 9:47 PM CST up reply actions

it isn't just about last night

since the all star break, the bulls schedule has been:

2 games, 1 night off, 2 games, 1 night off, 1 game, 1 night off, 1 game, 1 night off, 2 games

blazers:

1 game, 2 nights off, 1 game, 1 night off, 1 game, 1 night off, 2 games, 1 night off, 2 games

1 fewer game, 1 fewer back to back set, and 1 2 day break which the bulls haven’t gotten. granted, blazers were on their 4th game in 5 nights tonight, but the bulls won their 4th game in 5 nights in the first part of this schedule.

It is Vinny's fault

He had Pargo in for the ENTIRE 2nd quarter. This is while he has a well rested Flip Murray on the bench while he rides Rose, Pargo, and Hinrich for an 8 minute stretch.

It’s just awful. Vinny is such a stupid coach. The way you beat Vinny is to just do something stupid and Vinny will out stupid you.

Fatigue played a big part.

Even Funk saw it, though he didn’t say it, “All their shots are short, hitting the front of the rim.” He wouldn’t dare mention that the Bulls might be tired (which would insinuate a lack of effort or energy). But nonetheless, shots falling short is what happens when you jump flat-footed into your shots. And you do that when you’re tired.

I never felt that the game ever slipped out of reach until Rose had to sit down, guaranteeing more 20-seconds-left-on-shot-clock 20-foot jumpers from Pargo. Rose seemed to be poised to start a run until he was forced to sit.

No Noah hurts this team mightily as well. Many mention that none of the bench players really showed a lot of energy; part of this comes from Noah, who even when off the court has a tendency to be infectious. He’s the real heart and soul of the team in my opinion, since he’s easily the most forceful personality on it.

3-1 on the season against the Pacers is acceptable. Especially when our one loss is on the road without our 2nd best player and the second game of a back-to-back.

by Thrustacular on Feb 27, 2010 10:21 PM CST reply actions

8 Games in 12 Days

With trades mixed in and Noah missing a good portion of those. They were just exhausted and it showed. Problem is that the upcoming schedule gets really tough in terms of opponents.

by Niwrad on Feb 27, 2010 11:31 PM CST up reply actions

Ok so this is what I take from today's game

The Bulls were tired. They couldnt hit a jumpshot to save their lives, and everything was front of the rim. On defense, the Pacers kept driving to the hoop. I don’t know why the Bulls are so afraid of zone, but this was the 4th game in a row that there has been an extended period of either layups or free throw line trips for the other team. And that is very discouraging.

Rose, we just have to hope he isn’t hurt. If he is….playoffs could be a tough goal.

Kirk had a terrible night, but those have not been common as of late. Aside from Rose and Gibson, everybody on the team was cold, and when that happens it’s tough to come back. Especially with Danny Grangeswish making shot after shot after 3 after shot.

Don’t attack me for this, but i’m not going to be too hard on Pargo. Yeah, he had a bad shooting game and he probably shouldn’t have played as much as he did (where the hell was Murray?), but the guy is a shooter, and a streaky one at that. Happened that tonight he wasn’t on a streak. If you’re Pargo, you know in your mind what you are capable of doing. Pargo’s biggest strength as a basketball player is being able to provide instant offense by making momentum changing 3’s, and he knows it. He couldnt get it going tonight, but he knows he is capable of it (don’t argue this point, we’ve seen it happen before), and as a shooter, he probably just kept thinking “next shot, i’ll get this going”. He knew that nobody else other than Rose could hit, so he was trying to help the team as best he could. I don’t think it was selfish play, he was just playing to what he considers his strength. It just wasnt happening tonight.

There will be very few games where we get so little production from Deng (offensivly), Hinrich, Pargo, Miller, Murray, and Warrick all on the same night, so as long as Derrick is ok I wouldnt look to far past this loss. It’s very hard to sweep a team. Now, let’s take out day off, get Noah, Rose, Gibson, and Deng as healthy as they can be for the next game and get back to business. The Bucks are breathing down our necks, so no time to dwell on this one.

Why aren't they selling Rose's all star jersey?

by hongydraw on Feb 28, 2010 3:03 AM CST reply actions

the only person that was shooting was rose, no one couldnt make a damn shot, but i could understand they were so tired from the portalnd game

Pargo needs to be cut, in a hurry, he sucks!! he was 5-16, thats is sad indeed and I want to know is why the fuck Vinny is playing him?
