Beauty, thy name is Taj

Taj Gibson Throws Down On D-Wade (via NBA)

Akon - Beautiful ft. Colby O'Donis, Kardinal Offishall (via AkonVEVO)

An underrated athlete, extremely consistent and fundamentally sound, nice length, improving post game, nice face up game, and can take guys off the dribble, shows great potential in the screen and roll, runs the floor very well, very good rebounder, underrated shot blocker, great timing on defense, length and footwork above average, great hands,, fights for position, more explosive than he looks, will dunk on your whole family. and he will only get stronger and better.   Beauty, thy name is Taj.

It's more effective

if you play both videos at the same time. Epic.

Is this sarcasm? Taj is a nice find, would be a great backup at 20-25 minutes but he’s no starter

by C Smoove on Feb 18, 2010 10:39 PM CST reply actions

I'd certainly rather have Bosh

but I’d keep Taj over getting someone like Boozer.

angryandy or rosegirl

i swear. this guy has to be one of them.

what the hell have you been smoking? On second thought, if you're serious

than I’d have to check your arms for needle marks.

If this needs to be debated than I will simply blow my brains out. It would be much easier than trying to convince you that Boozer would be the better choice. This has nothing to do with the possibility that you have a fetish towards players who constantly chew their moutpieces is it?

My bad although it should be obvious that the top set of nos. are Boozer's stats

and the lower numbers, and I do mean lower, belong to Gibson.

Taj "Butterfly" Gibson

I see your point now! He’s like a spring day, a blooming daisy, a dainty fawn. Emerging from the constraints placed on him by the Tyrus cocoon he can finally spread his wings and fly… fly butterfly fly.

Bosh or Bust

by JockstrapNoah on Feb 18, 2010 11:06 PM CST reply actions

He’ll fly to the bench 2min. into the game with 2 fouls…

Lord Byron has nothing on you JockstrapNoah.

It was so touching, it set my heart aflutter. You must write awesome valentines.

this is still here?

i thought after a few hours, it’d be taken down..

I'm cuckoo for Kukoc!!!
I'm buying tickets for Feb. 20th. First home game after the trade deadline. Will I be happy?

by Yibs on Feb 19, 2010 11:18 AM CST reply actions

I'm sorry

but did you say that Taj has great hands? What kind of drugs are you taking? He drops everything.

by Dash2112 on Feb 19, 2010 2:00 PM CST reply actions

+1 to 2K then

His hands suck. Or at least they do with Rashidi’s rosters.

gibson is a good solid player..

If you are comparing him to a veteran than you are putting him into a class that he doesnt fit yet but i believe he has all the skills to be a positive player in the short future.
Is he the answer at pf right now…no he is a rookie..makes rookie mistakes and gets the short end on calls like most rooks..but if he were able to be a bench contributer instead of a starter this year he would be a bright spot..unfortunately TT was a guy that would have been the pf if he would have made it thru the 4th grade in school.
Gibson shows signs that he will be as good or better than many other players at his position.. Allstar probably not but i believe he could play as good as Jeff Green, kenyon martin, or a few other guys at the pf position,
If he develops his offensive game he could be as good as boozer or David west in a short time period…yes he could just become a drew gooden, but he is young and plays within himself….his tools are pretty nice, good rebounder defender and young and good basketball iq

He is PJ Brown, which is fine. A nice roleplaying backup PF…I really don’t think his ceiling is much higher than say a 33 yr old Joe Smith.

by C Smoove on Feb 19, 2010 7:47 PM CST up reply actions

We gave Joe Smith the MLE

So if we can get a player who provides similary production on a rookie salary, I’m more than down.

I'm not a great admirer of his game but he's already better than Gooden

who is a complete sieve on defense.

Thank god he won't become a Drew Gooden

Gooden is SO BAD. I mean, really.
I mean, I dislike Taj, but he’s not gonna become that. I have the ball on the sideline with two people guarding me? Hmm, looks like it’s time for a 20 foot fadeaway J! Oh, snap, I missed. Oh well, I’d better stand in the paint on D and spin in circles. Hopefully this guards people.
Next play: Hey, I have the ball on the baseline 20 feet away from the hoop!

Go Rockets/Nets[CDR]/Bucks[Jennings]!

by Prevenge on Feb 19, 2010 11:41 PM CST up reply actions

Maybe this was mentioned already

but they said in the post game show last night that the Rockets wanted Taj in a deal for T-Mac but the Bulls refused to trade him. I didn’t follow all the trade talks on here so if this was mentioned before just ignore this.

OK I don't know shit about basketball.

you guys need a new blogger

I suggest this one*:

It was just a nice, all-around team effort. I was really impressed by Warrick. He crashed the boards, ran the floor, and basically just worked it. I love it when guys scrap and hustle. If Warrick keeps playing the way he played last night, the United Center crowd is going to turn him into a folk hero. You know, until his contract expires this summer.

Listen, all Chicagoans want is to win a championship see guys play hard.

*or Sam Smith

Could've sworn

I read something about players being allowed one step while the gather the ball, then two steps after that before the season started. Could be wrong though.

by Stacey_Is_King on Feb 20, 2010 6:39 PM CST reply actions

I don't know the exact rule but I'm pretty sure LeBron

is allowed 3-5 steps to gather the ball and than as many as he needs after than in order to get a dunk or a layup,

In the NBA, travelling is in the eye of the beholder after the front office reminds the officials who the fans are paying to see and thus indirectly, who has the biggest impact on seeing their paychecks grow.

I predict by next year, D Rose will be going to the foul line 8-12 times a game by doing exactly the same thing he’s always done. Not that I’ll be complaining, just as I seldom saw a need to criticize the refs during the Jordan 3 repeat years.
