KC Johnson: Salmons to be traded, sitting out Knicks game
[From the FanShots. Looks like I picked the wrong hour to be away from the internet -ed.]
Per KC Johnson twitter: "Bulls management has told Salmons to remain at team hotel as it works to finalize a trade. Won't play vs. Knicks."

Oooh, baby
Time to log into my twitter for the update from KC on details.
It’s all about the details….
All your base are belong to Vinny.
Kurt is assuredly staying this season
Salmons is considered to be the most talented player in the trade. But the Bulls would be receiving a player or two who could help them the rest of this season with both on expiring deals. As a result, the Bulls could get to approximately $18 million under the salary cap for next season. A maximum deal is expected to be about $16 million to $16.5 million.
All your base are belong to Vinny.
cmon lakers.....

It's been fun
don’t forget to write from wherever you end up.
Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."

The article I read on the Spurs the other day said they were trying to shed salary
So I’d guess it’s not.

we keep tyrus, good - team is getting better and Tyrus is finally getting it
Can we throw in a coach.. slightly used.. like new??
Can Tyrus still be used
in a sign and trade if he stays?
Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."
If Tyrus stays with Bulls
It will prove the media is completely unreliable. Supposedly he had teams clamoring for him, and the bulls wanted to ditch him like yesterday’s garbage.
All your base are belong to Vinny.
there is reports Cavs have traded for Jamison
i wonder if Amare is now available with tyrus/brad miller, etc….???

What about

Sort of makes sense
With Redd likely out for a while (or forever), Salmons can be a stopgap for them too.
i was honestly thinking
salmons could be part of the deal with nate robinson going to boston….boston gets Nate robison and Salmons, bulls get marquis daniels, knicks get house, pargo
Rumors did say that extra players from both sides were needed to get it done due to Nate's BYC
All your base are belong to Vinny.

The Bulls are trying to get back a front court player in return in the deal to ease the burden on their injured big men

But seriously,
I think the Bulls could get Dwayne Jones, Rod Benson or another big man in the D-League.
why use the D-League

I do wonder if this costs
the Clippers any free agents. That’s not even taking into account the Clippers reputation overall. Donald Sterling is reason enough for Lebron not to sign with the Clippers even though they can now afford him, and would have the best team around him.

This is getting interesting
“There are a lot of things that as an organization we’re working on, and John Salmons will not be playing. There’s things that I’m not at liberty to say,” coach Vinny De Negro said.
The Bulls had been in discussions with the Spurs on a deal that would have sent Salmons to San Antonio for Roger Mason and Matt Bonner, but those talks died.
Chicago has been eager to move Salmons, who has a player option for next season at $5.8 million, for an expiring contract or contracts to clear additional cap space for next summer.
There also was talk at the Garden that the Knicks were discussing a trade with the Bulls that would send Al Harrington to Chicago, with Harrington possibly being re-routed to a third team.

All your base are belong to Vinny.
I think this might be preparing for T-MAC.
We get a couple cheap bigs from Milwaukee to replace Miller and Tyrus who goes to Houston for TMAC who is brought in to replace Salmons. No matter what, this means Tyrus is likely gone as well.

Good point.
Miller + James + Tyrus for T-Mac?
Rose/Pargo
T-Mac/Brown
Deng/JJ
Taj/Thomas
Noah/Thomas
That would be, um, interesting.

Wow, I'm an idiot. Either that, or you can tell how badly I want Kurt traded.
Rose/Kurt
T-Mac/Kurt
Deng/JJ
Taj/Thomas
Noah/Thomas
Meh?

yea i figured it was a subconcious thing
kirk repressing syndrome, many bulls fans have it…or wish they had it…

I don't even think the Bulls would trade Kurt if it netted them LeBron
and I’m only half-joking
Thrusting toward the playoffs, one game at a time.
why do we do this trade exactly?
no one knows what type of shape tmac is in, why not just let t2 expire here? especially considering noah’s still injured.
We just need to execute better - Lovie Del Negro
looks like bucks
Kurt (another one) Thomas, and Francisco Elson
There are really only two plays: Romeo and Juliet, and put the darn ball in the basket.

Rumors stated that Houston didn't want Salmons
But Bulls were pushing him on them. Bulls were out of running, so my guess is they went to plan B (or quickly found an alternate team) to deal Salmons separately.
Would be nice if it follows logic above as a precursor to Houston Tmac deal and usurps the knicks’ plan to get cap space via TMac…
SHould be interesting next few hours
All your base are belong to Vinny.
Yeah, that's what I mean
All I heard is that they didn’t want Salmons or Hinrich so I don’t get how trading Salmons hurt their chances
True - I get it
But I don’t get it, either. Same boat as you.
Hopefully Milwaukee trade opens door to make new offer to Houston, — maybe starts talks again now that new guys could be in play.
Or to Phoenix!

I have no problem with this move what so ever. Kurt Thomas is still a nice defender and rebound guy. Elson can sit the bench, or be bought out.
Now let’s send Tyrus to SA for Mason, some filler (like Theo Ratliff) and their 1st round pick.
And get Kirk out to LA
Official
Bulls and Bucks have reached agreement to trade Chicago’s John Salmons for Kurt Thomas and Francisco Elson, a league source tells Y!
can Kirk still get up and down the floor?

Just realized Kurt Thomas is 37 yrs old
Elson is 33 and out with hernia surgery, and has awful career numbers.
Sucks to be trade fodder. Goes from one crappy team to another for 30 games.
Also, I guess it means Bulls need Miller around still.
All your base are belong to Vinny.
It is official - our season starts July 1st
Salmons is much better than Kurt Thomas. Milwaukee gets better this year. Our season officially starts July 1st.
I don't think we'll miss him that much
Plus I’m glad James Johnson will see more time (he needs all the work he can get right now).
There are really only two plays: Romeo and Juliet, and put the darn ball in the basket.

Yes!!
Now we’re in the game for real. I just hate that this means more Pargo time!
Joakim on whether he ever tried tennis: "I played a little bit. If anybody on the Bulls wanted to play me, I would kick their ass."
We are in the game now!!
I see Rose driving to the basket, they converge on him and he throws it back to Joe Johnson. It is a three!! Bulls win! Bulls win!

In the proposed trade, the Rockets would get Kenny Thomas(notes), Andres Nocioni(notes), Beno Udrith and a Kings’ protected No. 1 draft pick. Sacramento would acquire Tyrus Thomas(notes), Brad Miller(notes) and Salmons from the Bulls. The deal would cleare cap space for the Bulls this summer and save the Kings as much as $15 million in salary next year.
Not a better deal
I fail to see how this deals helps the Rockets this year more than getting expirings from the Bulls. Tyrus and Miller can help them more than Nocioni and Udrih. The protected pick I guess is better, but not worth the $14 mil owed to Nocioni and Udrih next year.
Bulls can still offer Miller Tyrus and James to get McGrady
Hahaha, like the Rockets would take on two horrendous contracts for one first round pick.

new thread is up with the Salmons-to-Bucks deal
