i still don’t think it’ll happen. However this will undoubtedly be the best offer Toronto will receive.

I feel better knowing that if anyone gets Bosh, it’ll be the Bulls. No more of watching Gasol and Garnett going to someone else.

I don't see why they even entertain the idea of dealing Bosh

their only chance as a franchise over the next few years is that he stays. Noah and Deng will get you…worse than the Bulls are now.

Why give up on it now? They can make the playoffs and hopefully get some revenue, buzz, good vibes, whatever. Then if Bosh still wants to leave, not only can you paint it as his fault, you can still work out a sign/trade.

Heck, why not just make a Noah/Deng deal in the summer if you’re Toronto?

Anyone can claim to have broken news in the past…I could have even changed the posts on my blog to claim that I knew Wallace was going to be traded for Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden…(so, he speculated in the offseason that Brad Miller could be traded to the Bulls (even yfBB speculated Brad Miller could land on the Bulls)

That's the most hilarious thing I've ever read

In the 2007-08 season, Tech broke the Ben Wallace for Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden trade. Tech announced the potential deal in December of 2007, almost a full two months before the trade finally went through and was by the far the first person to announce the trade.
Most recently, Tech broke the Brad Miller to Bulls trade and announced the potential idea nearly seven months before the trade occurred.

He broke the trade a full two months before it happened?! How is that even possible? This is obviously bullsh*t. lol.

Here's another great one

“Miller and Salmons to Bulls Official”

Well, it took almost seven months from when Rumor Press first broke the story that the Bulls may bring Brad Miller back to Chicago for Andres Nocioni, see http://www.rumorpress.net/?p=23, and after the long wait a trade finally went down.

Damn he’s good! Looking at his other posts:

“Boozer could be traded to Bulls”
“Shaq to the Bulls?”
“Stoudemire to Bulls update”
“Raptors and Bulls talk trade” (Jermaine O’Neal rumor)

I’ve solved it. Just name every big name that could be traded, and when the Bulls make a move, claim I called it years in advance. (Btw, Dirk to the Bulls in 2011.)

by bull83 on Feb 16, 2010 6:38 PM CST up reply actions

Agreed...

If you sign a big free agent and feel that Bosh would be a better compliment than Deng and Noah, pull the trigger! However, Deng and Noah can be hugely important pieces in a championship run. Trading both of them for Bosh only makes sense if he is a much better fit than both those players. Will it make us a better team now, sure! Will it make us a better team with whatever free agent we sign next year…maybe.

Or maybe I just have a Noah hardon.

by Jason84 on Feb 16, 2010 7:22 PM CST up reply actions   1 recs

No way

I love Noah, he’s my second favorite Bull after Rose, but come on! If you get a chance to land probably the best PF in the game right now, while he’s still young and healthy, you take it! And they’d still have enough to sign another significant FA, if not a max deal. Assuming they clear out whatever contracts needed to have enough room to sign another FA, the Bulls will be contenders very soon indeed. And, you gotta believe that if we get Bosh, it’ll only increase the chances Wade comes here, so we’d be looking at having 3 perennial All-Stars: Rose/Bosh/Wade.

It’s all pie-in-the-sky right now, obviously, but I’d rather go for having the best “Big 3” in the NBA than holding on to Deng & Noah!

As much as I'd hate to get rid of Noah

if Bosh signing an extension was a part of this deal, and we could dump Kurt for expirings to ensure a max salary slot for the summer, I’d do this. Going into the offseason with Rose + Bosh + whatever + max cap space? Would Wade or LeBron really say no to that? Eh?!

If Bosh has told Toronto he doesn't want to resign

its hard for me to see how the Raps can get a better deal than Deng/Noah. Both guys fit well with Bargs. Both play defense. You can move Turk to the 2 or to the bench. I think this trade works for Toronto, IF bosh has told him he won’t resign.

by Jesse07 on Feb 16, 2010 6:41 PM CST up reply actions

You'd probably want Bargnani at the 4

But really, if your 5 best players are Calderon/Turkoglu/Deng/Bargnani/Noah, you don’t worry about traditional positions so much. Just make Turk the point (guard, forward, whatever), have Calderon be your secondary ball-handler and sharp shooter, and then you’ve got an inside defensive minded center and also a 7-footer who can hit 3’s.

Not a bad lineup – and of course I like it so much because it would mean the Bulls have Bosh!

I don't think it's that risky

It sucks that we’d have to give up Noah, cause he’s pretty much loved by all, but if you take heart out of it, it’s pretty much a no brainer. The problem is, people have gotten too accustomed to tremendously lop sided trades, so when both teams end up actually looking pretty good, it feels wrong

I saw a lot of this in the RealGM posts as well. Do people really think that the Bulls would give up Deng AND Noah without some sort of guarantee that Bosh would resign with the team? Obviously if the doesn’t this is a horrible, horrible deal, but I’m sure that’s not the case

Neil takes the fun out of funk

by Juiceboxjerry on Feb 16, 2010 6:13 PM CST up reply actions

I agree, but I don't see any reason why Bosh would agree to something like that

he’s one of the top names on the market this summer. why wouldn’t he just wait and go to the highest bidder or the best team that makes him an offer?

by darksmokepuncher on Feb 16, 2010 6:18 PM CST up reply actions

Because if the Bulls acquire him, NBA rules dictate no one could make a higher offer

And if the Bulls can get him and move Hinrich/Salmons, they could bring in another max or near max player this summer.

Miller + James + Salmons + Pick?

This rumors isnt true

so yes we do still have noah….The bulls management are dumb but not mentally retarded to let go of Noah and Deng for a player that is a free agent at the end of this season ….This rumor is garbage along with some of the other ones.

ven though it’s long been known Tracy McGrady was on the market and the Rockets have been shopping him for quite some time, no deal has been struck.

The Knicks seem to want T-Mac the most, and as ESPN’s Chad Ford explains, the Rockets would be willing to take on Jared Jeffries if the Knicks also part with Jordan Hill and a future first-round draft pick.

This would allow the Knicks to clear some more cap space and have the ability to potentially take on two big-name free agents this offseason.

But don’t count out the Bulls in the T-Mac sweepstakes just yet.

Howard Beck of the New York Times tweets: “A source involved in T-Mac talks says Rockets are weighing two offers, from Knicks and Bulls.”

And Ken Berger of CBS Sports adds some more detail: “New York is hopeful its proposal involving Jared Jeffries and his $6.9 million owed in 2010-11 — along with some combination of first-round picks after 2010 — will be successful in landing McGrady and his $23 million expiring deal. The combination would dramatically enhance the Knicks’ efforts to clear enough cap space to sign two max free agents this summer … Chicago is believed to remain involved in discussions with the Rockets about McGrady, with the same goal in mind.”

Berger also cites sources that say a third team may need to get involved to keep discussions alive because of the size of McGrady’s contract.

I interpret from that the Bulls must be offering Deng

Because i think that’s the only way they could get two max guys.

by Sports2 on Feb 16, 2010 8:34 PM CST up reply actions

if that's true

that’s pretty ballsy – they can get pretty close to two max guys be renouncing t2 and getting rid of kirk and salmons per thonus a few weeks back

Just for fun say this deal happened wouldn't you just bring back Tyrus?

No

Because the Bulls have killed any chances that he’d like to stay. Then again, if Vinny is gone, maybe Tyrus loves the incoming coach.

Rose & Bosh

Dreaming for a bit… No bad contracts (Kirk?). Just build a team around a very young allstar point guard and a young allstar PF whose games complement eachother. Insert role players. Maybe even sign another star. Championshipssssss.

Get Bosh now! With Rose playing amazing, pairing him with Bosh is phenommenal. You could get rid of hinrich for almost nothing and they would still be amazing!

Isn't risk aversion part of the Bulls Ten Commandments

1. There is only one JR who will allow you to run the team as you wish until he decides otherwise
2. Thou shall feel the embrace of JR as that of your father
3. Nothing is more important than profit
4. Basketball only exists as a means of support for the holy game of baseball
5. Players are indebted to the Bulls and only those who express such shall feel JR’s warmth
6. Thou shall not provide any real information to the press until absolutely necessary
7. The Luxury Tax shall be avoided until a JR anointed contender has been assembled
8. Risks shall not be taken on player contracts unless said player is JR anointed or represented by the disciple Arn Tellem
9. Thou shall not covet a player who wears a headband
10. Thou shall scout college players only at NCAA regional finals and the Final Four

We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look.

For all of the complaining I see on here from Bulls fans...

about how poor the management is, how much VDN sucks, and how unwilling the organization seems to be about putting a championship team together, the one (albeit BS) rumor that comes up about acquiring an All Star PF is still met with complaints.

Remind me – why do you all make fun of Blazers fans again? Oh, that’s right, because they over value their players. Deng and Noah, as much as I love Noah, will never reach the talent level that Bosh has right now – period.

by bryield on Feb 17, 2010 6:21 AM CST reply actions   1 recs

If Bosh agrees to an extension as part of this trade, I would personally drive Deng and Noah to O’Hare. They are both pretty good players but to win titles you need great players. I think we could have an easier time replacing a center who can defend and rebound and an above average SF.

The NBA is about stars, whoever has them usually win. Role players are important but you gotta have All-stars and at least two. Getting Bosh would get us two stars and we can get a mid priced vet at SF and draft another big man to replace Noah.

i dont know if you realize this, but all these posts you see on this site are not by the same person, and this site is not

a political party (yet, you need to start small yfbb). so while some complain all the time, others dont. and some would give up noah for bosh easily, but others wouldnt. so your pompous declarations to everyone are as pointless as they are inane.

All these posts are not by the same person? Is that what the user names are for? Oh, I didn’t realize that. Thanks so much for clearing that up. These internets can be confusing, you know.

by bryield on Feb 17, 2010 12:01 PM CST up reply actions

There's no question that Noah's not nearly as good as Bosh

However, together Noah and Deng might be more valuable than Bosh. I’m not saying they are, but I’m saying it’s close enough where you don’t take that gamble considering that Bosh could bolt this summer.

I guess he would enjoy speaking French all the time in Toronto.
