Game Preview #51 - Bulls vs Orlando Magic

[From the fanposts. I'll just commandeer this shamless attempt to pimp some unrelated website as the game preview since nobody signed up. I'll be at the UC tonight, probably tweeting. -ed.]

Star-divide

With the victory Tuesday night, the Chicago Bulls are once again at .500 for the season. One game stands between them and entering the All Star break at 1 game over .500. If they lose they enter the All star break as an all too familiar below .500 team destined for a 7 or 8 seed in the playoffs. If they win, it shows they belong and could bring out the best in the Chicago Bulls for a run at the 5 seed. I see Wednesday’s game against the Orlando Magic to be huge 2nd half momentum boost for the Chicago Bulls. Let’s take a look at my keys to the game:

  • Rose needs to stay out of foul trouble and continue the great game he had in Orlando.
  • Bulls need a similar defensive effort to last time on both Howard and Carter.
  • Magic may be looking ahead to their Thursday match-up with Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. This young Bulls squad is more than capable of running up a 110+ night if the Magic aren’t careful.
  • Which Chicago Bulls will show up? And no I’m not talking about Tyrus Thomas

Previous Match-up (January 2, 2010 in Orlando, FL): Chicago Bulls 101 Orlando Magic 93

Notable reasons for victory:

  • Great defense on Howard. 9 pts, 12 rebounds.
  • Contained Vince Carter. 8 pts on 3/15 shooting
  • Derrick Rose torched Jameer Nelson with his speed and quickness

A quick, mindless (but nicely organized) game preview with links to Bellemore Photography?

There’s nothing wrong with the preview itself, but it seems like the kind of thing I would throw together if I wanted an excuse to link to my business.

Sorry about the shameless plug

I’m an avid Chicago Bulls fan from South Jersey. I have the Direct TV NBA ticket so I can watch Bulls games - except when they play in Philadelphia – blacked out due to Comcast screwing Direct TV. I was honestly trying to contribute to the Blog-a-Bull site. My wife is the photographer and yes it was a shameless plug. I have updated my signature to not have so many links – I left 1 which I think is fair for contributing.

this game isnt particularly important. we know who the bulls are: they will win 39-43 games.

they will have a fun playoff series as long as it isnt against KG, and then they’ll have the mythical 2010 summer. if they can keep it close without noah though, it will go a long way in confirming my thinking that orlando is the bulls best 1st round matchup. their struggles defending scoring PGs this year are well documented, and the bulls have the best one out there.

"Oooohhh, cat in the wall, eh? Now you're talkin' my language."

If Orlando is dumb enough to not feed Howard the ball, we have a great chance to win.
Although Miller actually did a good job on Howard last time, there’s no backup if he gets in foul trouble. I’m seeing a big game for Dwight…hopefully they forget all about that and just shoot a bunch of 3’s…

I have no idea if this will have any effect on the rest of the season either way, as we don’t even know who the Bulls will still have(or add) at the deadline.

The last game was not in Orlando, it was in Chicago

I was there, it was in Chicago. Not to say this is the only reason why the Bulls won that game (they played really well), but Orlando did help a little. Late in the game when it was close and could have probably gone either way, even though the Bulls seemed to be in control, rather than dumping the ball into Howard, they put in JJ Reddick to shoot a bunch of threes. Yeah, some went in, but in that situation you give the ball to your best player, and they didnt.

Why aren't they selling Rose's all star jersey?

Let’s take a look at my keys to the game:

Salmons plays his very best game. Orlando says we need this guy more then Reddick because he does so many things well. Lets trade for him.

LOL

I like that strategy, and I think that may be more key to winning or building any kind of momentum. I think the Bulls (like many other teams) will try and audition their roster in the next few games leading up to the 18th deadline.

That’s my key to this game. Audition Tyrus, Kirk, Salmons, Deng and anyone else that gets the Bulls a good contract or sheds a big one.
And if we get a win – bonus.

All your base are belong to Vinny.

Where's the sign up sheet?

If there’s still open games, I could certainly do a couple.

Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."

If I ever get remarried again after I move to New Jersey, I will consider his services, except why would any sane, rational person want to live in New Jersey?.

That photo of Vinny has destroyed one of my long held fantasies forever.

I always thought that Good Guys wear black. I believe he’s enjoying telling Tyrus not to expect more than 5 minutes of PT anymore now that he has RIchards to fall back on.

If you can't answer a man's arguments, all is not lost. You can still call him vile names.
