Root, Root, Root for a Hornets loss
New York Knicks fans should be rooting for the New Orleans Hornets to start losing. Knicks fans lost this summer in the LeBron James sweepstakes, and had to settle for Amar'e Stoudemire. Their best bet to become a championship contender is to acquire Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul, but it is a long shot.
New York Knicks are hoping to acquire Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets via trade during the season. Chris Paul the other key to this puzzle, and is a free agent at the end of this season. It is rumored that he wants out of New Orleans. Just before the season tip off CP3 made some noise about being traded, but it quieted down and he went to work.
For this to work in the Knicks favor the Hornets need to lose games, and so far this season the Hornets are 13-7. If the New Orleans can sneak into a top 3 seed in the West and get deep into the playoffs then CP3 will be less likely to skip town. Likewise Carmelo Anthony won't want to go to New York unless Chris Paul is going there. So if the Nuggets are looking for a trade midway through the season, and the Hornets are winning games, Carmelo might be looking for another city to live in besides New York. Chicago perhaps? Luol Deng and Taj Gibson are looking pretty good if you are the Nuggets and are in danger of becoming the 2011 Cavaliers and lose your superstar for nothing. If you live in New York pray the Hornets to start losing, and if you're the Chicago Bulls then I wouldn't try to hard when you face Chris Paul and the Hornets.

The Magic don't have any money for him
Also the magic have not expressed any interest in Melo that I am aware of. From what I have heard New York is a front runner, and if he doesn’t go to New York he will probably stay in Denver. There is still a small chance he will end up in Chicago though.

Orlando could put together a better package for CP3 or Melo if either were actually available
Jameer Nelson, Brandon Bass, Marcin Gortat, Vince Carter (expiring contract) could be used for a deal in various combinations. Magic could also take on Emeka Okafor’s contract if the Hornets insisted.
Well, isn't what LeBron did last night the living embodiment of The Secret, leaving millions on the table and turning himself into a hometown villain, all for the sake of winning?

I hate to be disagreeable, but I can't figure out much case for having Nelson, Gortat, or Carter on my team at this point
Especially if I’m trading away a franchise player.
Carter is an expiring contract, yes. But at this point I don’t think he has much practical upside beyond that. I mean, he’s certainly a better expiring contract than, say, Eddy Curry, but that’s not saying much.
Were I another team, I’d at least moderately be interested in Felton, Chandler, Galinari, Fields, etc as much as Bass and Carter.

You're right, the Knicks could put together a strong package
I was just wanting to refute that the Magic wouldn’t be able to acquire Paul or Melo and shouldn’t have indicated the Magic would have the best package.

Sorry
Sorry i misread that, but I also have not heard news of CP3 going to Orlando, I do not think they would trade for CP3 because they would have to give up too much to get him, and Jameer Nelson can be an all-star point guard when healthy.

There was a report a week ago that the Magic are desperate enough to find a perimeter player who can create his own
shot that they were looking into acquiring Gilbert Arenas. The team is already a championship contender and would likely be put over the top with an acquisition of Melo or Paul. The indication is that they’d be very interested in trading for either player.

"Did Michael Jordan join the Pistons when he couldn't beat them? No. He dug down deep and went out and kicked their fucking ass."
You don't know the English language very well. It's the Jazzes.

I think the best part is when he tries to correct it but does it on the teams with s's on their names
I’ve seen a couple ‘Laker’ mentions.

F'ing delusional Knicks fans
For three years we heard that LeBron and Bosh to the Knicks was a done deal. At least the Bulls have screwed up real rebuilding plans instead of imaginary ones.

Dood, Chris Paul has a player option for 2012/2013
his contract does not expire at the end of this season.
