Watching Kurt Thomas play is such a throwback. Basketball can be pretty easy without having to try so hard when you've been in the league as long as Thomas. He's a typical vet, doesn't hurt you and at times you don't even know he's on the floor. I have to say him playing along side Boozer is pretty interesting. They compliment each other very well.. it's just too bad the guy can't be a few years younger.
While Joakim Noah brings the energy and hustle he also stagnates a bit on offense because as the seasons progressed Noah has lost confidence in his 15 foot mid range shot that Kurt Thomas seems to shoot so well. I'm not typing this to say trade Noah to Denver or anything but maybe you offer Taj Gibson?
I don't know how much value Gibson has around the league but I know last season he did have teams interest like the Houston Rockets.
I had a conversation with someone close to the Bulls and he told me the Bulls couldn't really make a deal because of Noah being out. Well maybe the play of Thomas can change some minds. It's changed my mind about how I think the second unit should be handled. I think Kurt Thomas should be included into the second unit once Noah returns.
So what do you guys think does Kurt Thomas make Taj Gibson a trade asset or would you rather hang on to him?
