Finally, Derrick Rose said it!!!
"I look at myself as a scoring point guard," he explained. "You don't always have to be a great shooter, you just have to find a way to get to the basket.
"One person I look at is Dwyane Wade," he continued. "I think he shot like 27% from three last year, but he's a great scorer. When he's feeling it, he's feeling it. Those are the type of people I look at in the NBA."
We should stop comparing D Rose and ranking D Rose as a pure PG. This argument of: is Rondo and Russell Westbrook a better PG than Derrick Rose is not what I want to focus on. I prefer to debate and argue where Derrick Rose ranks compared to the other Franchise Players based on impact and value regardless of position.
Dwyane Wade came into the league as a PG, but he has the height to play SG and he is a better scoring guard than a set up guard. During Derrick's High School years, he thought he was going to grow more and he was going to play as a SG. I believe that Derrick Rose will be the next D Wade.
For two years we've wondered what kind of player he'd be if he just a little more selfish with the basketball. Now we're seeing what that means. It means a player who leads the league in scoring.
