Delonte West starts fight with Von Wafer at Celtics practice; may be waived
For all you people who wanted Delonte, he may be available again. Of course, the reason he may be available again is probably the same reason the Bulls passed on him this summer.

West believed Wafer was responsible for published anonymous quote saying it was “obvious” when West hadn’t taken his medicine, source says.
Oh yeah, I'm guessing today was one of the days he didn't take his meds.

while i don't endorse him fighting
and sure won’t speculate on him taking his meds, the other players should refrain from comments about his mental health imo.
Maybe he could've put Bogans on the injured reserved list and we'd have no choice but to trade for Rudy

Delonte has been on edge since...
Momma James stopped puttin’ out

Get him
so can he punch Deng into manhood. Maybe that will make him work on his dribble and attack

I don't think getting punched there
will help anyone work on anything…

I can't blame Wafer for walking away
Considering that Delonte: a) has mental issues; and b) has a giant arsenal of guns (as evidenced by his arrest last year), he would probably be the NBA player I would least want to fight.
Well the article said Von Wafer connected on two of his own punches
Seems that Delonte only got one blind sided punch and Wafer got two in and wrestled West to the ground…
Wafer probably just walked away because he was being more professional?

I really hate that nickname.
Although, it does make for a great catchphrase: Subs in so fast, you’ll freak!

DJ Mbenga.
He’s strong as hell and a MMA specialist, IIRC.
Why do we want a guy who just released
For starting a fight with a teammate? Seriously, he’s not event that good anyway.

He fits in with the Celtics
He can be their team mascot. Didn’t they lose their Irish mascot or have they replaced him?

I'm still a Delonte fan.
Maybe cause I’m a fan of the charming affects of madness, or because I think he’s pretty solid in big games. I like his work in the post (what other PG can you say that about), and he seems like an anti-LeBron, his image is the last of his worries. Von Wafer hasn’t always been the guy with the greatest reputation, maybe he did start it with his bitchiness.
That being said, despite the lack of crime worthy tattoos on this team, the Bulls will put Delonte West through the process and reject him every time he’s available.
Why, because Lebron isn't crazy?
he seems like an anti-Lebron
His image is the last of his worries – not really. Reportedly he was upset because he thought Von Wafer told the press that you can tell when Delonte is off his meds.
I was for signing Delonte in the offseason. But I’ve dealt with people who have serious mental health problems in the past. If they aren’t to the point where they can effectively handle their illness, than they can be volatile and unpredicatable. Not the kind of things teams usually look for. He simply isn’t reliable right now. I’ll be a Delonte fan when he can prove he can take his meds.

Von Wafer talking shit about another player to the press
is pretty much against the rules that players bind themselves to. You can imagine any player getting pissed at a teammate if that teammate is giving negative nuggets to the press. Horace Grant talking about Jordan’s gambling to the press ? Probably frowned upon by Jordan.
I’m playing devil’s advocate though. Even if it was justified or within the confines of tolerable action, it gives the rest of the league another data point with which to label West as unstable. Until he can prove he’s stable for a long stretch of time, stay away.

Delonte will end up signing with the Clippers.
