(after getting angrier)

I swear, reading stuff like almost makes me wish the Bulls lost every game. I can’t believe the tone of this after a 5-2 road trip.

Hopefully it’s just fluff though and doesn’t serve as a window into future impotence over protecting this squad’s ‘success’.

Told that "Daddy has to make money,’’ the boy went to his room and returned to offer Dad five quarters he pulled out of his piggy bank to stay.

i must not be reading the article in the same light as you

i suppose i consider more a fluff piece as you hope it is, its just something written for the organization to show average fans, “see…were working…” and a chance for the media to write about the bulls current success and spin it (for now) as if it has been happening all season long. I see this article, much like most articles in the media, to be written for average fans. Plus with rose making the allstar team people want to read stuff that seem to scream “the bulls are getting better and come 2010 they will be even better than now!”

So i dont think much of any of the quotes, gar is a liar, we know that already, so whatever quotes he said are pretty much nothing to me….“Thats probably another gm, maybe wants a trade or something” or maybe its that son of his telling him to bring home some milk? The bulls no doubt are getting phone calls for players, no doubt the players values went up with the current win streak, no doubt the bulls would like to get the playoffs (REVENUE!!!) no doubt they want to cut salary (AVOID THE TAX AT ALL COST) i dont see anything in this piece that i already didnt know or believe was going on…so again maybe im missing some small nuances that u (and perhaps others) picked up…

On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!

I have no issue with any of the specific quotes

maybe the part about BG and the ‘grand plan’ is a bit off-putting.

I just don’t like the tone, because it’s a seeming trend that the Org. was banking on this ‘success’, and it means 2010 is an afterthought. That’s a bit scary.

But you’re right that it’s likely just a harmless fluff piece on Foreman. I do always get a bit irked when we have to hear how hard a guy is working when he’s paid millions to be a GM, and then hear Paxson praise that hard work knowing he tried to quit because he didn’t want to do the work.

Best quote of the article:

Pax on Gar:

“He has a very good eye for talent and a temperament that is really good for dealing with many of the day-to-day issues that confront GMs. I know (Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf) and I feel fortunate Gar is in place.’’

So…he’s basically admitting he couldn’t handle the GM role due to his own “temperament.” That’s funny.

Thrusting toward the playoffs, one game at a time.

He pretty much said that in his press conference

It’s not a secret.

Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."

Anybody who believes that THAT was the reason they let BG go… I have a bridge to sell them…

by kingles on Jan 31, 2010 5:52 PM CST up reply actions

I see no reason to believe that wasn't part of it

Just because you say someone’s a complete idiot and you’re smarter than them doesn’t make it so.

It was pretty predictable that Once BG was gone, Rose would have the ball in his hands at the end of games. Letting Gordon obviously put more pressure on Rose. The only question was whether that would expose Rose or force him to step up.

Was that the only reason BG is gone? No, but no one claimed that it is.

Vinny: "[Thrust] means pace, it means getting the ball out, it means getting your back to the sidelines, it means extending your outlets, it means getting the ball up the court into our early offense with plenty of time."

Someone posts

a fluff piece on the GM. People who hate the GM go ballistic and read negative innuendo into every line.

honestly the way i looked at it was

even if your getting calls about trade, there is no need to make it public. Last time that happened, our whole team quit. thats the way i see it. As R.Kelly said Pee Pee Keep it on a down low

"In the Wake of the News" as a column headline

should have been retired – have some respect for Bernie Lincicome people!

We miss you, Ben Gordon!

About those rumors Gar...
Executive vice president John Paxson and Forman, partners since 2004, collaborated on the decision to let Ben Gordon go without really replacing him. A move easy to question early — as I did — has become easier to justify lately because Rose is freer to take over games in Gordon’s absence. That was all part of the Bulls’ grand plan to develop Rose.

Our top priority is to lie repeatedly apparently.
