BaB.com T-Mobile Player of the Week: Derrick Rose

This post is sponsored by T-Mobile.

Yes, a regular sponsor means regular features! I'm not sure I can handle such structure...

Though choosing a player of the week may be fairly easy, since I see Derrick Rose winning a lot of these. Though with the Bulls actually winning 3 times last week , there were bound to be more candidates: Luol Deng had Joakim Noah were consistently productive, and maybe Kirk Hinrich proved his worth when showing what happened when he didn't play on Monday.

But it seems appropriate to give this one to Rose, if only for this: his first game-winner (isn't it?).

Congratulations to Derrick Rose, winner of BaB's first T-Mobile Player of the Week award. I'll high-five ya when I see ya.

wow. awesome

In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).

Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.

agreed

I should call it ‘meaningless triumphs in the face of soul-crushing institutional incompetence’

I'm still curious as to whether you can call this a game winner

Yeah sure it’s not a buzzer beater but if a foul is called on the other end of the floor and we go yet to another overtime, what is it?

This makes me gitty.

Not because of Derrick Rose but because Matt has to post this even though he clearly doesn’t want to. His soul belongs to T-mobile now… is your phone verizon wireless? Tell me it is.

He probably got a new phone out of this

so they can force him to get their service.

I can appreciate the idea of a sponsor

but I’d hope you get more creative leeway than fifteen “Derrick Rose was our best player the past 3 games!!” posts from now till the end of the season. Especially since it seems BlogaBull is kicking ass compared to most sbnation blogs.

I'm guessing I can take it any direction.

This one seems rushed…because it was. I’m going to try and get these up on Mondays.

Matt (yfbb)

Just thought I’d ask

Do you get comped tix? If you don’t I am VERY surprised because I’d imagine your site garners more interest in this team than 99% of their marketing efforts (Sam Smith probably wins, the rest? I don’t know). As even when you’re negative folks can put it in either direction…..

I think we should campaign to get yfbb some comped tix….

Sadly....through thick and thin....

I say this with love, but screw Matt.

The readers should get some free tickets, I’ve seen other SBNation blogs have some giveaways before.

Yeah

That would be nice too.

And I get that (especially when he’s the most negative one here :) ).

But seriously the Bulls org should be ecstatic with this web site. I know I’ve followed even mroe closely since finding this guy 2 or so years ago…but now you see this site and him from time to time on ESPN, etc)….

Sadly....through thick and thin....

in the interest of full discoslure (and covering my own ass..):

If you notice, the several other NBA blogs doing the T-Mobile sponsorship have free tickets to give away.

I’m the only site under this deal that doesn’t have that, since T-Mobile isn’t an official team sponsor (I believe it’s Verizon?) and they have no immediately available comped tickets to give me to give to you.

I’ve been told they’re working on getting me some (or something, anyway) so that we can have our little games too…

I was saying more for you than anything

THough obviously I’d love to get dibs on any tix or win a contest anyway….

But I really think the team should support a site and a fan like you who has I don’t know 3-5 thousand accounts flowing in and out and gets espn attention….

Sadly....through thick and thin....

I guess you're right....

And I know Sam Smith’s a huge draw (and Pippen too since I’ve seen him on there)…

And we all know KC’s in Gar’s corner.

Sadly....through thick and thin....
