Great Britain got next in London 2012...
The British are a sporting people: they gave us the world's game, association football, aka soccer; they gave us rugby football (which became Football here, Aussie rules down under and Rugby Union everywhere else). They gave us cricket, which may or may not have anything to do with baseball, but they love it in South Asia, Africa and Australia. Canada gave us Dr. James Naismith, a naturalized American citizen, who gave us Basketball the greatest game since soccer. And some of those Brixton cats (that's the main black African/West Indian hood in old London Town) can ball: Deng first learned to play over there, Old Ben Gordon was born there, ANdy Betts, Joel Freeeland, Erica Boateng, Pops Menah-Bonsu....so hey FIBA, just let 'em play!

RE: Beijing in the Olympics...
China wasn’t really going to make noise in 2008 anyway. Against the Powerhouses from Europe and the Americas (Spain, Serbia, France, Russia & US, Canada, Argentina, Brazil) not to mention Australia…they didn’t even have a chance at a medal, but got to play, despite an incredibly weak Asian field…And British Basketball got competeitve in three freakin’ years!
