Who is your favourite bulls player (other than derrick rose)
Who is your favourite bulls player (other than derrick rose)????
Derrick rose from what i have seen has been one the the best players and one of the most favourite ones from the bulls roster. But now i ask all the bulls fans who their favourite is. The selection is not only based on skill or talent but also personality and charisma.
I have also added the rookies in the mix as we have already seen them play in the summerleague and have also seen them in the media on numerous ocasions.

Statistics prove.. Poll-ers typically list first the individual/item they would like to skew more votes too!
And results prove it works!

ok! just giving you a hard time
But that lineup without listing Rose looks very undesirable from a basketball starting lineup perspective (maybe with exceptions in Salmons and Noah).
But this poll is about favorite (like personality in addition to playing style), Therefore they are all great guys…

I like my players to be passionate and be good. Noah fits the mold.

2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

Well....
Until next season starts I’ll keep saying BG, because looking at that list, I can honestly say I don’t like any of them. But I probably dislike Lindsey Hunter the least. My expectations of him are so low,and he never plays, he can never disapoint me.

Nope
What’s wrong with Hinrich people. He plays hard, he plays defense, he tries and he doesn’t inflate his stats in lieu of helping the team. For chrissakes he came back 1.5 months EARLY last year to try to right the ship…..
I know I’d rather have BG in that role, that’s not Kirk’s fault that is the mgmt’s fault, and well Kirk’s game is the anti-BG, if Rose takes that next step offensively, then having Kirk might be the better fight next to Rose, have Rose do the scoring, have Kirk in a shooter/defender mold……
BG needs the ball a bit to be as effective as he was and well might just might have held back some of Rose.
Seriously you should be saying if anyone says Luol……though I don’t hate Luol.

My third favorite is TT, maybe because he’s the only Bull on Twitter?

Hmm.
I still see a lot of potential in Tyrus but until he fulfills more of that potential I’ll have to say Kirk Hinrich. Kirk bounced back in a big way last year especially in March-May, and was a vital part of our first round playoff series.
Of course BG had been my favorite Bull and I was an advocant for trading Kirk before last season started (Kirk has some value left and really he’s a luxury on a team with a real post presence need).
Really though while Kirk’s my current favorite, Joakim Noah, Tyrus THomas and John Salmons are on that threshold…..and can easily overtake (I genuinely like the Bulls players, there’s nobody maybe besides the $6.6M Jerome James do-nothing make wayyyy too much dough man that I absolutely don’t like, but right now there’s no clear cut I love that player (D. Wade type) on this team. Rose is probably my favorite overall because of his most clearcut potential, but even him I’m not yet 150% never discuss trading him just yet, need more time.
So I’d say outside of the potential in Rose, it’s Kirk Hinrich my next favorite, knowing that he’ll bring his all to help the team (unless it’s 2007-2008 that is which I don’t get what happened) and he’ll do a lot of the dirty things.
Then I’d like to say Tyrus Thomas because if he gets I’ll be a huge fan with all that athleticism, but I do think Noah’s got the most potential to supplant Kirk as my #2 or possibly #1 Bull (i just have to see him not come back to the team like he started last year). Then the fish, who’s a fun player that I liked in his Sacto days….

I'm curious what percentage you believe have Derrick as their favorite
I’d agree with the assumption that most people like Derrick and are glad he’s on the team, but I wonder if he is “the” favorite for a lot of people. Most talented, most potential, most important to the team, least likely to be traded, sure. For me, that type of player is very rarely my favorite on a team.
Derrick doesn’t break my top 3 of “favorites.” He’s maybe 4th, definitely at least 5th.

Derrick
Is probably my favorite because I keep replaying those Toronto and Celtics games (game 1 and the maybe late Dec Toronto 4th quarter) in my mind…..as he matures he’ll own it a bit more and take hold of that mantle. He’s easily the greatest potential because of what he did already, just wish he was more Superstar esque at the mike (but he’s 20, I hope that comes)….

Here it is, according to Basketball-Reference.com...
2009: James Johnson
2008: Maurice Speights (PHI)
2007: Nick Young (WAS)
2006: Rodney Carney (CHI to PHI)
2005: Joey Graham (TOR)
2004: Kirk Snyder (UTA)
2003: Troy Bell (BOS)
2002: Jiri Welsch (PHI)
2001: Kirk Haston (CHH)
2000: Hedo Turkoglu (SAC)
I decided to go 10 deep (mainly because I wanted to get to Turkey-glue). from 2005-2008 the 16th pick was pretty good, but took a fall from 2001-2004.
I find the 2000 draft to be particulary interesting for two reasons: namely, that Hedo Turkoglu is definitely the best player on this list (so far). Also, that 2000 NBA Draft is the year that the 2009 draft is most often compared to (in terms of it being an overall week draft).
How interesting that the draft that supposedly mirrors this year’s draft yielded the best player at 16 out of the last 10 years? I realize this is mostly based on coincidence, but this is definitely far from bad news.

Joakim Noah
Hes a pot smoker so hes cool in my book.
Plus…
Joakim Stat line for 2009 Playoffs:
10 Points 51% FG 13 Boards 2 Blocks… Pretty solid numbers for his first playoff run.
Up’d his Free Throw shoot to 76% compared to 67% in the regular season.
I loved his heart and intensity. He played with a lot of passion. We need more players that can produce statistically… and bring some emotion into the game.
I don’t care that the Celtics had no KG. They STILL had Ray “fuckin” Allen AKA Mr. Dagger… AKA a hall-of-famer… and Paul Pierce who was dangerous at times… although he didn’t impress me as much as…
Rajon Rondo…
That guy was flat out awesome in the playoffs. He nearly averaged a triple double! So essentially the Celtics had 3 Allstar type players on their team.
Noah played through that fact and stepped up his game. That fastbreak dunk that fouled out Paul Pierce will always be his defining moment… until hopefully he surpasses that… Playoffs make stars and Noah showed small signs of it…
Everybody on the Bulls stepped up actually. Rose was dangerous. Isn’t it so nice to have someone on the Bulls thats “dangerous?” He was like a ninja assassin running around in the paint… cutting the defense with his swift speed.
Ben (Bye Bye) Gordon was like a blind assassin. Taking Shots. ANY shot actually. That guy made some ridiculous shots… and he took them when he didn’t even have too sometimes too… Hes the master of high volume/low percentage scoring.
Gordon

Tyrus Thomas all day
Led the team in Blocks and steals, completely energises the team and the fans in the arenas. Yes, he’s raw, but blew up last year helping the team in a major way get into the playoffs before Vinny D completely shown Tyrus how he truly feels about him. Tyrus won’t ever be liked in Chicago because the organisation has chosen the 2010 free agent group over grooming it’s 23 year old project, and the fans are still crying over not having Roy, or Aldridge, but Tyrus is a fan favorite in many cities. I travel to alot of cities balling’ and the Chicago fans outta state never say “Noah”, you’ll here a dribble happy guard say " I’m like Rose!" or the guys who can dunk are called Tyrus, but you don’t ever hear, “Miller”, or “Salmons”. Tyrus is a great athlete and a good player and he will only get better, especially when someone actually coaches him!
by Mr Rhythm on Sep 9, 2009 11:34 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
As a matter of fact
I truly believe Vinny D didn’t want Tyrus to play well in the playoffs, I believe that fully and it makes sense when you factor in that Tyrus got less minutes in game 2 after playing well in game one, and game one is the game that got the basketball world watching the Bulls play! Nobody remembers Tyrus getting 16 points, the game winning buckets or the game high 4 blocked shots. Well Tyrus got over 30 minutes in that game, then in game 2 Tyrus only gets 20 minutes yet he has 6 blocks! Tyrus was not used properly. If Vinny never pulled that crap the series would have been much different, I cannot believe Vinny thinks Miller and Noah are better players than Tyrus, there has to be personal beefs between them!

Noah, Tyrus and Kirk are the trinity of faves after D Rose.
by C Smoove on Sep 10, 2009 1:16 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
look at Kirk's competition....
not much to choose from! Noah is the “cool” choice, I love that hustle in the playoffs, but he has to show me a full year…. I may switch to him next year. Miller is old and will be gone after this season. TT is athletic but doesn’t consistently put out 100%…. I still see him walking back sometimes! WTF TYRUS RUN DAMNIT!!! Johnson and Gibson are new…. Aaron Gray is Aaron Gray. I guess Salmons and Deng should get a shot, but Deng’s often injured and Salmons is kinda new. I’m not even going to evaluate the rest of the roster.
Kirk wins by default. He hustles on defense and is generally a smart player. I’m not taking salary into account in my evaluation.

BTW, if he got mean and starting playing the role of enforcer then I think he would have some value in this league. The dude is huge. Just go out there and knock someone on their ass. The guy plays weak…. He just doesn’t have the right mentality.

Even Rose went through a passive stage. Everyone else still on the team either got injured or went into dry spells. Noah is no worse than any of them. After he recovered from getting his eye poked out by Thabo he was on his way up without any regression.
