Well, of course he offers more versatility.

But Ben was a better scorer and shooter than Salmons is. This is much ado about nothing, really.

Now we finally see why Gordon is gone.

He was no good at pleasuring the front office.

“but you like that length.”

Larry Hughes technically was the initial fulfillment of that prophecy

I still remember some fans thinking that Hughes was in fact being held back by LeBron.

The 2009 White Sox....like a 40 degree day.

I remember when the cleavland media

considered hughes at first to be lebrons scottie pippen…i remember when hughes was with goldenstate and was being compared to kobe bryant in ability….

Oh yeah we sometimes forget about that stuff

I never thought Hughes was held back by Lebron but his game just can’t work like that. He plays outside of his threshold hes a guy who needs an immediate result when hes playing. Which is why I’d always say I don’t care how many assists he gets aslong as he lets the team flow.

And wasn’t he playing point at times in Cleveland. I was surprised they went to the finals and he stayed that long. I really didn’t like his game when he was with the Wizards actually but it worked the best there it seems.

The thing about hughes

that i think really tells u the kind of player he is is when he first came to the bulls he complained that the reason he wasnt effective in cleavland was because the coaching staff wanted him to shoot jumpers and leave the middle open for lebron and he said “thats not my game, im more of a slasher”…i sort of got happy when i read that first interview cuz the bulls needed a player like that at the sg, however all he ever seemed to do while on the bulls was shoot jumpers and pretty much never attacked the rim, i think he actually came in an interview and said something like how he could help the team with his ability to shoot the outside shot, which was the opposite of what he declared when he first got on the team..its why i never could stand him, despite how sad his life story is…he was in the nba for money, not to win or help teams win…

I worded it as nice as I could.

I remember him with the Wizards and he would just jack it up. I mean I don’t think he completed a dunk in a dunk contest once. But hes not that great a slasher hes not quick and hes not a great finisher. I hated that we got him I remember I didn’t see him much with the Cavs.

by Camry on Sep 29, 2009 7:17 PM CDT up reply actions

Well

If Larry got his f-ing act together and played his slashing strenghts, he still could have been better. Instead even without Lebron, he still was jacking up jump shot after jump shot after jump shot and forcing everything…..

He’s a ridiculously dumb player who wasted a lot of talent.

I may have to wait for one game to update my sig

Just to get the new date accurate.

‘One of the areas we struggled was defensive rebounding, so with more size at the two [shooting guard] and with Luol back healthy and then with a couple of rookies that have some length … it gives us some more options and versatility.’’
Yes Vinny. It was lack of defensive rebounding at the 2 that led you to start Thabo and then promote Ben Gordon into the starting lineup.

Coach Making it up as goes.

12/31: Fire Vinny Del Negro.

by NBA Observer on Sep 28, 2009 11:36 PM CDT reply actions

You seem to be the one making it up

Vinny didn’t say anything about what caused his decisions last year. All he said was that having Salmons/Deng, instead of Gordon/Salmons, would improve the defensive rebounding, and its pretty obvious that it will.

by runningman on Sep 29, 2009 12:37 AM CDT up reply actions

That is the biggest change

Deng rebounds like a PF. Fitting since he’s the height of one. All you really expect the SG to do is box his man out, and get the long rebounds.

As BullsBlogger mentioned below, it would be nice if Rose learned how to box out himself. Admittedly he won’t go against Rondo every game, but if he could do for the Bulls what Rondo did for the Celtics.

by runningman on Sep 29, 2009 10:49 AM CDT up reply actions

Hinrich once boxed his man out for a long rebound

the result was him being thrown into a scorers table….

hopefully that's another area of Rose improvement too.

Size had nothing to do with it

Position and awareness had everything to do with it.

Short Glen Davis could rebound against us. He acquired position early. It’s all in the head. It’s up to the coaching staff to communicate the areas of failure so the players can correct them.

12/31: Fire Vinny Del Negro.

Yeah it would be to Vinny's best interest to say

Gar totally F-d up and F-d me by letting BG walk for nothing….Salmons ain’t as good….

or

Well this year’s heading towards the shitter…hooray, fans please watch.

What do you expect him to say

Answer questions

Brief is better. Let the journalists segue to other topics.

Vinny just keeps on talking after a simple answer and doesn’t know when to shut up and let it be.

12/31: Fire Vinny Del Negro.

I didn't listen to the whole thing

Just the summation here.
