Around SBN: Tiger Woods, Tony Romo Grouped Together At Pebble Beach

[From the fanshots. Just a reminder that coverage will surge once more very soon. Though BaB was not invited to media day, so I'll have to throw tomatoes at the computer monitor -ed.]

In preparation for the 2009-10 NBA season, the Chicago Bulls will start training camp on Friday, Sept. 25 with their annual Media Day at the Sheri L. Berto Center in Deerfield, Ill. Bulls coaches, players and General Manager Gar Forman will be available to the media for interviews and photos.

Chicago’s first practice will get underway on Saturday, Sept. 26 with a two-a-day practice session set for 10:00 A.M., and again at 4:30 P.M. The two-a-day practice sessions will continue through Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Wow I'm so excited!

They’re either going to really suck or be pretty decent. I’m ready for a Tyrus Thomas break out season! His 4th season this is it man. I feel it. Go Bulls!

by SoulEater7 on Sep 22, 2009 12:05 PM CDT reply actions

No superstar player has ever broke out after their 3rd year.

Except for like 5 or 10 or so, but they are very rare superstar exceptions. It’s written in stone.

And to expand on your point for the optimistic fans

All stars normally show their potential within a year and a half most of the time. I dont think tyrus is going to be that because of a few simple reasons. He is not a natural offensive player. Blocking shots and weakside help are his strongest points and his rebounding is about average but that could increase with consistent playing time. If he had the mindset of a ben wallace type which is defense first and get his points in the flow of the offense he would be much better. But face it. He is slightly trigger happy, too small to be a 4 and doesnt have the ball handling or scoring of a 3. And I havent seen him possess what most all star caliber players have which is a high basketball iq and heart.

Tyrus Thomas is really Stromile Swift with a retarded mask on..Think about it Same height, same school, same athletic ability, same sucky ass work ethic, same no real position having retarded statement making fucker. News flash retard. Sloan doesnt like lazy ass jump shooters who have 1 for 17 games. Fuck u stromile.

by drakedog on Sep 22, 2009 3:17 PM CDT up reply actions

Yep

that pretty much sums it up. That being said, I still think Tyrus has his best year as a pro this year. Something like 13.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg and 2 bpg should suffice. If Deng gives us 17 and 6, Noah gives us 10 and 10, Salmons at 19 ppg, 3 apg and 3 rpg with Rose at 20 ppg and 8 apg then we should field a very competitive team. Hinrich and Miller are solid to great bench players and Johnson/Pargo should fill in the empty minutes.

Why the best and most followed blog is not invited

is beyond me. Maybe because Matt has not been very positive lately :-)

I’m sure you’ll enjoy throwing tomatoes at the screen though.

The Game chose him !

Were any blogs invited?

If so, it’s pretty much b.s. that BaB didn’t…

we'll see

not that I know of, but maybe Doug will get to go and let Gar Forman know he’s down with the plan of getting LeBron in 2010.

Can't wait to see what ridiculous photo ideas they come up with this year.

And to hear all the stock answers to all the stock questions.

It'd be hilarious if he showed up calling Kirk by the right name.

So what was the focus of your off-season, Vinny?

Well, I erased Ben’s name from all our late fourth quarter plays and penciled other guys in. I’ll go back over it in ink once I figure out what works. Then I tried to think up a cool code name for our defense, so I can say something other than the strategy was to switch a lot. And I worked on the pronunciation of my hard c sounds, since it seems like this Hinrich guy isn’t going anywhere after all.

If we do as good as last year,

as has been speculated here, why would Vinny be on his way out?

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

No one wins if he's fired.

That just means the Bulls suck even more.

The only

lockout I know of is the ref lockout, and the season would go on with replacements if they didn’t come to an agreement.

They’ll use WNBA and D-League refs

I was hoping you would go, we need somebody asking a few tough questions, the kinds of questions we ask every day.

Maybe I’m not as familiar with previous media days and VDN will be pounded with heated questions, but this strikes me as an “all smiles” affair.

I'm ready for the season to start

I hope they haven’t been coaching James Johnson on what to say tomorrow. He doesn’t strike me as a generic interview at all.
