It's funny though
That well first Rose got 1 MVP vote, but that also they said voters ranged from thinking we could win 55 games to as little as 30 games….
What’s interesting about that is if we won 30 games with essentially only BG leaving and getting a full year of Salmons & Miller with hopefully healthy Kirk and Deng, that Ben Gordon did not get one single vote for Best Newcomer, as his departure to negate maturity of Noah, Tyrus, growth of Rose, and presuming some health, more experience with VDN, etc will cost us 11 games and well more than that if you consider the winning percentage and improvement of the post trade Bulls (especially when they got their feet set)….
Thurston Moore is a rock god
lol, it is embarassing that jamal crawford got a vote for best newcomer
and ben didn’t. also extremely interesting that most faces that appeared on the best poll also appeared on the worst.
"They should. They better. I'm Vinny Del Negro!"
It's because the Hawks
Should be a better team that the Pistons (because the Pistons really were like a 28-30 win team after week 7-8 last year (the Curry Honeymoon ended)…
But still…

i should have just ended my statement that it is embarassing
that jamal crawford got a vote for best newcomer period. :)

Yes you should have
Sorry I wasn’t thinking….but Jamal freaking Crawford….sheesh

It's great to see that these ESPN "panelists" are risk-takers (sarcasm)
They have every free agent ending up either with their current team or in New York and they predicted the East to finish with an identical Top 7 as last year (with us and Philly switching places).
Way to go out on a limb guys…

Interesting to see perceptions of the writers "rec"
I enjoy these posts that predict the finish. Someone should keep track to see which prediction comes the closet to the final reality.
My only problem with ESPN's predictions
is that they are usually just a repeat of how last season ended. Hence, these predictions. What are the chances that actually happens? That every team finishes in the exact same spot as last year? Not good, if you ask me.
I think the Heat are taking a fall in the standings this year.

Keep in mind that these "projections" come from a rather large pool of experts
It’s pretty hard to deviate from the consensus with that large a group. I’m sure if we poled everyone here at BaB for projected standings it would end up looking pretty similar despite how disparate perspectives are around here.

That's a good point
I was just expecting some sort of difference from last year (other than the Wizards taking the Pistons playoff spot that is).

Wait till next year if all the movement that's supposed to occur actually does
For everything that’s happened this offseason, it was just the good teams staying good and the bad teams staying bad.

Hah, well if ESPN's predictions are correct
then LeBron’s staying in Cleveland, Wade’s staying in Miami, Bosh is going to New York (not enough to make them respectable) and Amar’e will likely stay with the Suns (because both he AND Bosh can’t go to NY — too many PFs).
There may not be much movement after all..

The big names may not move much, but there are plenty of other players out there who could affect the standings

That's true I supppose
but I just can’t think of who they are off the top of my head. I know there’s Joe Johnson and Manu Ginobli, but I don’t think Ginboli’s going to change teams either.
Who else is there?

ESPN did actually write an article recently about not looking too deep into a teams recent playoff run like the Bulls
The Bulls wrote the book on that
the last time we made it to the second round of the playoffs and then went on to lay and egg the next season. It was a cautionary tale. Had that hype never happened our crappy year would have been bad but we wouldn’t have fallen from such “heights”. Hopefully a more tempered media will allow our upcoming year to be mediocre without all the failed expectations. I really wish they’d just focus on Rose and Noah and treat us like some of the other teams with young players. I
Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.
Will Wade take over every game again ?
There came a point with Kobe Bryant where even if he could take over the game by himself he forced his teammates to do something. I think that if Wade is deferring to teammates and trying to make everyone better, then he’s in Miami for sure next year. If he is doing it all himself, all he’s doing is showing off for a new contract.

Man we are number 5, behind the Hawks, we are essentially better overall than the Heat

I have a $20 bet with my buddy
on whether the Bulls will make the playoffs in 2010…and I’m on the “will not” side. I hate to say it but I still believe it – no matter what the “experts” are saying.
And on a lighter note – I’ve been so fackin busy with work in the last 2 months (I’m no longer a Tribuner) that I’ve really missed the time I used to spend on this site. I intend to make more time for the upcoming season – even if I believe we are going to suck – so I look forward to more debates, arguments and overall tomfoolery. I assume Matt’s still on the cynical side, amirite?
