Memphis Grizzlies Cut Entire Scouting Staff
"How do you resist the conclusion that Heisley has settled on a strategy that values dollars over wins? He can't sell the franchise so he'll run it as cheaply as possible. He'll use the Grizzlies' cap space to facilitate trades for other teams. The Grizzlies will be rewarded with "cash considerations." They'll be the Memphis Grizzlies & Money Launderers.[...]

And yet they just traded for Zach Randolph
One of Randolph’s paychecks would probably cover a full year’s salary for every one of their scouts combined. Please Stern, contract the Grizzlies for the good of the league.

Maybe their scouts said that Randolph was a good investment
He let them do it as one last hurrah before firing them all for vengeance.
Vinny Del Negro: Possibly the most unintentionally irritating last name in the history of last names [Hint: I can't for the life of me pronounce it correctly].
-Brandon Jennings: PG of the future!

It was probably over Hasheem Thabeet not showing up in summer league.

Then why isn't Chris Wallace out of a job?

If it was, then they'd be hiring other scouts to replace them
Did you read the article? It’s simply a cost-cutting move.

Outsourcing?
Will scout for less than the guys you just fired. Season tickets to the Bulls and Bucks required.
12/31: Fire Vinny Del Negro.

I expect you to provide a Vinny-esque binder
with all your credentials, including your ‘troublesome’ prescient foul calling.

But would you work for minimum wage?
I doubt the Grizzlies would even pay your gas money to the games at this point.

Who needs gas money?
The Grizzlies should just hire a couple of teenagers to scout their opponents just using everything on the Internet, screw actually watching the games.
