Fire Vinny after the train wreck start of season, hire Laimbeer...
Bad Boy Bill Laimbeer wants a job. He his resume isn't long, but he was a 2 time NBA champ, 4 time all-star, generally regarded as one bad MF and, oh yeah he took the Detroit shock from the bottom of the WNBA to clinch three titles in the span of 6 years. When I was a kid I hated Detroit. I still hate Zeke, even though he's a homeboy. I hated the when the Bad Boys played my Bulls, mostly until I heard former bad boy and later Chitown BullD-Rod quip: "I'd rather be called a dirty player than a soft one"
If anybody could immediately gain the respect of an NBA player, Laimbeer, all 7 feet 280 pounds of him could. He's a winner, and he's proved it. Why hire a mediocre former player/exec with 0 experience over a guy like Bill Laimbeer. I'm officially on the Bad Boy Bill train whe the team goes to hire Coach Next. After seeing the Bulls early schedule, I am all but certain Vinny's out unless D Rose proved that he is the unholy lovechild of JKidd and DWade.
Gar PaxDorf, Fire Viny. Hire Bill.

Their has to be someone better than Vinny and Bill Lambier.
Favorite part of Lambier
Anyone ever play Bill Lambier basketball for SNES?…. memories
Meh
We need someone who has a history of winning and developing players in the NBA. If this was before we hired Vinny, I might have thought taking a chance on Laimbeer was a great idea (especially since he had some experience winning in the WNBA) and a much better thought than Vinny. However, now we need someone proven at this specific level.
He has dominated as a coach in the WNBA, and that's high level basketball
regardless of how much Bill Simmons might like to malign it. The guy can clearly coach, so I’d have no problem giving him a shot, especially after watching Vinny bumble through last year.
1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

Does that mean we will be going with a no dunking offense?
I apoligize to anyone this offended its a joke.
Thanks Fundamentally...
That he can coach a team of ballers to a championship three times (and motivate a team from the bottom to the top) is where the truth lies. Haters gonna hate though…
I would love to see Pippen as a coach
I have the feeling he’d be a disciplinary like Skiles but hes not tyranic. Alot of years of soaking in Phil Jackson and Scotties silent intensity that would go perfect with Derricks mindset but having Lambier I guarentee Noah would be a beast.
I'd love Scottie too
Plus it helps that he’s a Chicago Bulls legend, familiar with the org, was a PG and Pt Forwad (guards often help run plays etc in the league) was a far better player than Laimbeer, and seems motivated to be a coach for the Bulls no less, and he know’s Hein-rich.
Thurston Moore is a rock god
I think about Scottie coaching alot- i know he wants to- but the problem is he's not viewed as an "organizational guy"...
I see him getting a change to assist, but for another team unfortunately.
the bulls should give bill cartwright another chance
only lawyers and English teachers should care for grammar are you one?
The Pirates,Reds,Royals, and Padres are not major league teams
No they shouldn't.
Things could be worse. We could have kept Boylan.

why not he was never given a chance and his calm demeanor is what the Bulls need
perhaps you would like Doug Collins or Scott Skiles again

No I want Tim Floyd.

Oh, sorry smash.
What I meant was, unless D Rose proved to be a superstar point guard/off guard combo whose individual greatness and offense-generating acumen took the Bulls to the elite echelons of the league. In other words, if he tapped his considerable potential and became a superstar.
Laimbeer couldn't be worse than Vinny
But, he strikes me as a Skiles-esque hardass. Guys like him always worry me, I can’t tell if they’re more interested in getting the team to play better, or to just win points with the media for tough talk.
The Chicago Bulls.....the more profitable Los Angeles Clippers.
WNBA players are a little easier to coach than NBA players
Considering Laimbeer’s own teammates didn’t like him when he played, I don’t like his chances of getting along with players. Besides, why do we have to keep hiring inexperienced coaches?

Because the experienced coaches who aren't currently coaching
aren’t currently coaching for a reason-they’re not that good.
Universally?
Are you really ready to step up and say the 30 best coaches in the US are coaching NBA teams right now?
There’s nothing about an NBA coaching search that i’ve seen that screams “exhaustive review”. Mostly retreads and known names, with the bad teams the only ones even attempting to hire a rookie coach.
Upon further review...
I didn’t read as well as I should have. There may be coaches currently not coaching that are better than some current NBA coaches. But I wouldn’t want any part of them for the Bulls.
So Mike D'Antoni wasn't that good?
Yeah, I guess he’s no Vinny Del Negro.

What part of "keep on" don't you understand?
You can’t make up your own time period and ignore the past. The Bulls had a chance to hire D’Antoni, and they didn’t get it done. They then hired somebody with 0 experience, so obviously this organization places no value in an experienced, successful coach.

Pretty much true. I don’t want a re-tread, but as long as the coach was a lot of ass’t coaching experience. Bzdelik or Thibodeau or Corbin would all be worthy candidates.
What happened to Bzdelik?
He had a horrible team in Denver but they were competing hard every game. He was given a raw deal. He would definitely have been an upgrade over VDN.

im pretty sure you have to know how to use timeouts to win a WNBA championship
