Wade: Getting to the playoffs "is not enough"

Why does this make your day?
Because you know you can now rule out Wade ever coming to the Bulls if he really wants to play for an organization that wants to win championships?

I recommend putting a picture of The Chairman near your desk
Whatever good things you read or hear about for the Bulls you just glance over at the picture and the air instantly rushes out of your balloon.

Dwyane Wade is a friend of Gordon's and a big fan of his as well.
Bulls probably hurt their chances in getting Wade by not bringing back Gordon. In one of two ways. Either Wade would want to go to the Bulls, to play with Gordon. (Three guard rotation of Rose/Wade/Gordon would be the best in NBA history), or by Gordon telling Wade the horror stories about Bulls management.
The Bulls have ZERO chance at getting Dwyane Wade. Wade’s staying in Miami, Lebron in Cleveland, Bosh will join Lebron in Cleveland, and Amare join Wade in Miami. Bulls will end up with Joe Johnson….yippy.

Isn't Kirk Hinrich also close pals with Dwayne Wade?

Yeah, Riley didn't want to admit Kirk was just trying to hold Wade's hand

BG went to Wade's bowling event.
They have to have some higher level of friendship for that to happen. No one on the Bulls ever went to Gordon’s bowling events.
And then you have this, where Wade was telling Gordon to take the qualifying offer, presumably so he could come go join him in Miami. (This is when Miami had the idea they’d have cap space as the cap would grow….before that whole economic crisis thing).

If players come to the Bulls in 2010
it will be because of Rose and the legacy of MJ and nothing else.

well that's definitely true NOW...
…and uh MONEY might have something to do with it.
What does MJ’s legacy have to do with someone signing a contract?

Yea
i think mj’s legacy scares players away more than invites them, especially the sg/sf-esque players….its why i dont think lebron would ever come here, already the jordan comparisons are rampant, he has said that he doesnt want to be compared and i can see it being an annoyance more than anything, but then coming to the house jordan built, yea the comparisons will be rampant every single day he plays here….thats alot of pressure and annoyance all at once, not to mention being handled by jr and crew….
On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!

agreed
I can see someone like Kobe embracing it way more than Lebron, for obvious reasons.
MJ hasn’t played for the Bulls in over 10 years now. Most of the current free agents didn’t even get to see him play in his prime, if even at all. If illwill’s theory is correct, then McGrady would’ve been a Bull back in 2000.
MJ’s “legacy” will have no bearing whatsoever on any free agent signings. If the Bulls are holding a $6 million contract in my face and team B is holding a $10 million contract, who gives a care about MJ at that point?

I think that's a crock of shit
Does anyone on the Celtics or Lakers crack under the pressure because they are the two best franchises in NBA history?
People will make Jordan comparisons no matter what team LeBron or Wade play on, it’s inevitable.
The Chicago Bulls.....the more profitable Los Angeles Clippers.

I think it is alot of pressure
but i didnt say he’d crack under it, and if you re-read what i wrote, i do say “its more of an annoyance than anything” and it will be….whatever jordan comparisons he gets outside of chicago, playing in chicago it will be more so 10 fold…

BG went to Wade’s bowling event. They have to have some higher level of friendship for that to happen. No one on the Bulls ever went to Gordon’s bowling events.
All this time, I thought it was Bulls management that pushed Gordon away, when alas! It was simply his desire to have friends to bowl with!
For my true fans, I feel bad for them. The longtime fans of the Chicago Bulls – I just felt like they’re being cheated. Not with me, but just things that happened in the past. I feel like the fans deserve a lot better. - BG7

joe and rose would be nice
but we still would never win a championship without a 3rd piece

It's simple as this
If the Bulls can pull off a Bosh trade before the deadline, Wade will think he’s the missing piece . . .
by Option27 on Jul 6, 2009 5:12 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Thats true also and a part I forgot to type
If we can offer Wade a line-up of
Rose
Salmons (Insert Wade here)
Deng
Bosh
Noah
Plus a 5 year 100 million dollar contract to return home it will speak volumes. Plus I like to think Wade knows about MJ legacy since he is from the Chi and emulates MJ’s game./

That's the whole point
If the Bulls can present him that kinda line up and that kind of cash, I would have to think it would be impossible for him to decline.
On another note, I’m thinking that a Bosh deal around the deadline maybe wouldn’t work cause he would still be a risk to leave after the season for nothing.
I’m not sure you can extend your contract or even give assurance you’ll stay around that time of year
by Option27 on Jul 6, 2009 5:45 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
i bet you toronto will take deng off our hands
in that case i’ll be super happy with that trade even with the risk of bosh leaving

You must be forgetting
They got Hedu now
by Option27 on Jul 6, 2009 7:28 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
dang no deng then
crap forgot about that…..hmmm maybe they’ll be willing to start deng at pf?

If the Bulls can pull off a Bosh trade before the deadline
they likely won’t have the cap space to sign Wade

Aren't the Heat better than the Bulls?
Why would Wade come here?
by Basketball Smurf on Jul 6, 2009 7:52 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Bulls vs Heat
These gams will bring added fortune if the Bulls can sweep Miami, There will be a lot of story lines next year. ala vs Detroit, vs Miami, etc.

That Jermaine O'Neal trade is looking just as shitty as I thought it was going to
by Sports2 on Jul 6, 2009 8:31 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
True,
but he’s off the cap next year.

If we don't trade for STAT or Bosh
we can kiss Wade goodbye.

they were basically 'rolling over' the expiring contract
Pax could’ve tried something similar with PJ Brown.
