Holding Firm: The Chicago Bulls said from the opening of free agency that they were not going to be big players this summer. The word was they were more than pleased with the progress made last year that it would be better to hold the line than to do anything silly and Bull's GM Gar Forman says he thinks his team is basically set for training camp.

"We're still in contact with a number of teams," Forman said to Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald. "We're always exploring ways we can get better. At the same time, we like our young core. We like where we're at. We thought the rookies made nice progress in the summer league.

"The majority of our core is back from last season. I think Jannero (Pargo) is going to help. Really, John (Salmons) and Brad (Miller) having been with us and going through a full training camp is going to help us. For the most part, I think we're pretty much done."

The Bulls may sign one more player, restricted free agent Aaron Gray. They spent a considerable amount of time with Aaron in Las Vegas where he is training with Joe Abunassar of Impact Basketball. The Bulls mapped out goals for Aaron and a game plan for him this season, all that remains is to get him signed to a contract.

I'm still trying to wrap around my head.

How Forman can say something like we basically have the same core back.

That’’d be like the Celtics losing Paul Pierce and saying that they’re bringing basically the same core back.

well Forman also said

it was top priority to re-sign Gordon.

So perhaps Forman shouldn’t be trusted for anything, and just got elevated to the position so poor John Paxson wouldn’t be doubted publicly anymore.

I wouldn't compare Linton Johnson to Paul Pierce...

I know they are both SF’s and they both have rings, but Pierce was the finals MVP.

I know people don’t like D2.0 around here, but seriously? Every time someone makes a joke you call them a troll?

that's like

probably the 1st or 2nd time I’ve called D2.0 a “troll” (I usually think of worse things than that). Where have I called people a troll?

Get the stick out of your anal orifice...

Seriously.

My comment was not trolling at all…Andrew made some vague comparison to Paul Pierce leaving the Celtics, to which I replied (quite hilariously) in a mocking manner…The Bulls have not had a player the caliber of Pierce since the late 90’s and we certainly have not lost any players from our core that have been finals MVP…

In short, his comparison sucked to begin with, and it is not trolling to make fun of a sucky comparison.

whatever

as Matt says, you suck. Your reply to Andrew had a trolling tone to it (to me), and I replied as such.

And did you take time to realize that his comparison of Gordon and Pierce could’ve been due to them both leading their respective teams in scoring, rather than your sucky reference to finals MVP?? Just because two objects may not compare in one quality doesn’t mean that they can’t compare in another. But you go ahead sir, go ahead and live up to your lil “Bad guy protagonist” role. We’ll all better because of it.

Bulls front office: If anyone asks if we are pursuing a certain player say:

“We’re always exploring ways we can get better”
“We’re always exploring ways we can get better”
“We’re always exploring ways we can get better”
“We’re always exploring ways we can get better”

I’ve heard it from Jerry, VDN and Gar everytime they are asked if we are pursuing certain player.

Brad Miller and Big Show, fo sho.

1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

agree

shaq would hold his own…but aaron gray would get lost walking into the ring and end up outside

Its not so much that Aaron Gray would suck

as it is that Miller just knows all the moves. Its hard when you go against someone that can deliver such an efficient and devastating clothesline. Not to mention the Miller pile driver. I’d like to see him in the ring with Rondo.

Miller's finishing move

would be that devastating deceptive phony elbow chop flail to the head that he demonstrated on Glen Davis.

12/31: Fire Vinny Del Negro.
