NHL approves Reinsdorf's bid to buy the Phoenix Coyotes
It's still subject to the bankruptcy court, but the Chairman is now one step closer to owning a hopeless, money-losing hockey franchise. Congratulations, Jerry!

At least he's buying something with
the profits he makes off us Bulls fans. As such, I’ll make an effort to stop calling him a cheapskate and just start calling him an asshole.

agreed.
But he’s still a cheapskate when he WANTS to be.
To bitch and moan about POSSIBLY going into the lux tax and then turn around and bid $148M for a piece of crap team makes me want to do harm to someone.

Hockey in the Desert?
Bad economy. Immigration trends. I would have tried to buy into the Dbacks or a Soccer club.

This is a genius move
Buy a hockey team in the desert that no one will support, Reinsdorf will lose all the profits he makes from the Bulls and Sox, and now has a built-in excuse to never adding payroll.
The Chicago Bulls.....the more profitable Los Angeles Clippers.
