This came from SLC

"If Stockton and Malone are captains and they're alternating picks from current or former Jazz men for a 3 on 3 tourney + 1 alternate, who are they picking? They're included in the 3. "

Fun Question on a slow sports day. Now do it with Scottie & Michael

Judging from his run as personell man with Washington and Charlotte

Jordan would be reviewing the list of current/former Bulls for fellow UNC alumni first and other ACC players second. I say he takes Scottie Williams and Elton Brand.

We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look.

Well, MJ's first choice would be Charles Oakley.

Pip would choose next and he’d pick up Horace Grant. MJ would then select Derrick Rose and Pip would take Ben Gordon. Alternate picks would be MJ taking John Paxson and Pip taking Elton Brand. Teams would be:

MJ, Oakley, Rose and Paxson

Pip, Grant, Gordon and Brand

Obviously, MJ’s team wins 9 out of 10 games. Any one else care to share their thoughts?

I dont know if pip would gordon

he hates those midget back courts….he would take brand though, and mj would pick oakley for sure….jordan always like john paxson since they played on the olympics team (paxson hit a few game winners so jordan always trusted him) pippen might go with Kukoc, but most likely go with d.rose…..

On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!

I dunno, I think Pip could have contained MJ a little. Pip’s team would be too strong. 2 PFs vs 2 PGs.

by C Smoove on Jul 29, 2009 1:52 PM CDT reply actions

True, maybe take out Pax and insert Cartwright.

But I just know that MJ loves Oak and Pax and Rose is the most talented player in Bulls history outside of MJ and Pip.

my ideas

Pippen has to pick first for it be to be fair, and I think his team wins because he’ll pick Artis Gilmore and unless Jordan takes Rodman, I can’t think of anyone in Bulls history who’s stopping Artis in his prime 3 on 3.

i flipped for it

pippen got first pick. He choose Grant, a big man. Jordan chooses Oakley. Pippen chooses Gordon to score. Jordan chooses John Paxson/Steve Kerr and tells him to stand in the corner and shoot

Jordan’s team wins because they have Jordan and because no matter who they pick, the talent gap between Jordan and everyone else is too much to overcome.

amendment

i think Pippen would really want to win, and in that case the best pick might be kukoc. Toni, Pippen and Grant is pretty formidable. I think Jordan would than be forced to pick Ron Harper or kucoc to match up. He’d probably pick Harper. MJ would still win though. He is just too good. But it would be closer.

I think that Jordan would pick Gordon.

Why take Rose? Gordon would be a perfect fit next to Jordan. Have Jordan draw the double team and kick it out to Gordon for three.

Jordan: Paxson, Sloan, Oakley, Gervin
Pippen: Rose, Harper, Love, Grant

Overlooked: Rodman, Kukoc, Parish, Gordon, Kerr

Oh shit!

How did I forget about Bob fuckin’ Love!? And Artis Gilmore… Man, I got sucked into thinking “Bulls players from the Jordan era or newer.” Oh well, that’s fun too.

by Rose Colored Goggles on Jul 29, 2009 5:26 PM CDT up reply actions

Parish is a good call because if you add up his career numbers

He’s right up there with Gilmore.

I’d break down the all-time Bulls plus honorable mentions like:

1- Van Lier, Rose, Hinrich > BJ
2- MJ, Chet Walker, Harper > Gordon
3- Pippen, Kukoc, Deng > Love
4- Rodman, Brand, Grant >Bob Boozer
5- Gilmore, Parish, Cartwright > Miller

If I had to narrow it down, I’d want to see
MJ, Parish, Van Lier + Brand
PIP, Gilmore, Walker + Rodman

by Sports2 on Jul 29, 2009 9:42 PM CDT up reply actions

And ya know, I had Van Lier on there too, but I again thought "not on 3-3"

He’s more of a full-court press type defender. But I did mean to put him on my overlooked list.

I don’t think Scottie would have picked Rodman, but I came close to having MJ pick him. MJ would do anything to win, and wouldn’t have needed offense from Rodman. Plus, putting Rodman on Pip would have infuriated Pip.

Dude

you think Luol Deng is better than Bob Love? Rodman better than Brand and Grant? Yikes…
