I think his jumper wasn’t his biggest deficiency. I’d rather he’d be working on his interior passing and defense all summer. His jumper was alright for a rookie. But his D was atrocious, working on the J is fine but he had bigger things to work on. Like getting official 3pt range.

Said Rose: "I’m going to be tough to guard."

How do u practice defense?

Everyone always says that but I don’t c how?

you don't

“practice defense” per se…but you CAN practice things that will improve your defense (foot speed, positioning, etc). Watch video of your opponents and learn their tendencies.

There are lots of things he can do in the offseason to prepare himself.

Looks like BG taught him the shooter's mentality

"I got used to it toward the end [of the regular season] and in the playoffs," Rose said. "I was just shooting the ball and not caring if I missed three in a row, four in a row."

That coach is not the first person to talk about his tendency to lay the ball flat against his hand when shhoting.

An announcer said someime last season during a game. It might have been Doug Collins, I can’t remember who for sure though.

"Rest satisified with doing well and leave others to talk of you as they please"

Hmmm

last I heard he said he was taking 700 shots a day

"What gets us into trouble is not what we don't know. It's what we know for sure that just ain't so."

You can do defensive drills. There are a lot of varieties. The Nuggets did defensive practice for 60% of their practices and they improved as a top 10 defense.

I agree defense should be an area of focus.

I am a HUGE Rose fan. I did notice that his defense was pretty awful last year. He made Gordon look like an all defensive player. I really hope we see improvement in that area as well. He is on his way to being an all-star but in my opinion to be considered an elite player you have to play better defense than he has played so far. Good new is he is not scared of working on his deficiencies I just hope he put a lot of work on improving defensively this summer as well as offensively.
