"We have the best season ticket locations available that we've had in the last 10 years!"

A Bulls ticket representative, on the phone with me a few minutes ago trying to sell me some season tickets. I guess that's a sign of how Bulls season ticket renewals have gone.

Where was he trying to sit you?

I have good seats in the 200 level behind the visitor’s bench… it better not be closer than that.

Don't know

I’m at work, so I blew the guy off before he could mention specific locations. I’m guessing he was referring to 100-level seats between the baskets. A lot of those seats are held by companies, and obviously with the economy in the toilet that’s one of the first expenses businesses look to cut. So if anyone has money to burn and wants Bulls season tickets, this is a great time to get them!

Why resort to name calling?

Oh so he called you? That's funny...

There are going to be a ton of NBA franchises hurting this year… I keep hearing about the Pistons and how for the first time in a looooong time they have a huge drop in STHs. The latest report was that they were down 30% after years of consistent renewals. Beyond basketball, I even have a friend who is an upper exec at one of the big Ad agencies in town and he told me they were thinking of letting their 4 Cubs tickets (9 rows behind home) expire before this season. This guy is a Brit and didn’t understand how idiotic that was and I quickly talked him into selling them to a broker instead of doing something nuts like that. They did drop their Sox tix though, ha.

That call every year...

Last year it they called multiple times trying to sell me the corners of 100 level…nothing between the baskets though…I was looking at 200 level along the baseline.

I don’t know for fact, but between the baskets only get offered as upgrades to current season ticket holders (of which, I am not).

I'll be interested to see how many corporations and uppity-ups turn out to the UC this season

Correct me if I’m wrong, but majority of the gate revenue comes from the luxury boxes and other suites like the Harris Bank Club.

The Chicago Bulls.....the more profitable Los Angeles Clippers.

And by further extension...

The Salary Cap in 2010 will be reduced due to this overall decrease in BRI…I mean if this is happening in Chicago (a city with lots of corporate headquarters/centers), imagine what is happening in the smaller markets…
