Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

I was reading the Real GM forum about the Bulls and found this. Did anyone notice Vinny saying that?

Sidney Green (born January 4, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York) is a retired American basketball player and coach.

A 6’9" forward/center, Green was an All-American selection at UNLV before being selected by the Chicago Bulls in the first round (5th pick overall) of the 1983 NBA Draft. In his ten-year NBA career, he played for the Bulls, the Detroit Pistons, the New York Knicks, the Orlando Magic, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Charlotte Hornets. He retired in 1993 with 5,080 career points and 4,128 career rebounds.

Since retiring from the NBA, Green has been a coach at Long Island University, Florida Atlantic University, and now at North Florida. His son, Taurean Green, currently plays for the Chicago Bulls Summer League team.

We were talking about this in the thread yesterday. Someone said it was Taurean Green’s Dad and I thought they were kidding… nope! I just hope this doesn’t mean we keep that kid around… he’s terrible.

Oh, ok

I didn’t read all the thread and I only watched the second half of the game. But now that we are talking about him, does anyone know if he developed anyone?

What makes anyone believe he can coach up our bigs?

This guy wasn’t a very good player in his time, what has he learned since his playing days to make him qualified for this job? This is probably another hire based on former Chicago connections.

isnt a factor for coaches

most coaches were pretty limited as far as skills..but great learners and teachers, if that idea were true..isiah, mj and mgic would all be coaching and winning chips like Phil

I was watching the 1995 Playoffs VS the Magic's and remembered how much I hated Horace Grant. Horace Grant - i hope you burn in bball hell

Since when is being a Hall of Famer as a player a good predictor for coaching success?

Some of the best coaches are NBA journeymen, some haven’t even played in the NBA.

The Chicago Bulls.....the more profitable Los Angeles Clippers.

Did he get out of jail?

I know Corie Blount is a little preoccupied at the moment.

Why resort to name calling?
