Glimmer of Hope for D-Wade
Sorry, I have to keep this short because i'm on the way out to work, but I thought I'd fill everyone in on the talk going on down her in steaming Miami. And I apologize for not having some kind of link, but I heard this on the radio.
There is talk of a rift between Pat Riley and Dwyane Wade. I hope everyone has heard Wade's recent comments about not being content with first- round playoff exits. He wants to contend for titles as he enters his prime years, and obviously would like the Heat organization to get him some talent to play with. Well, the talk is now that Riles and D-Wade have a rift going. Pat Riley has told Wade he will not pursue anyone or sign any significant help until Wade himself re-signs with the team. This obviously has Wade upset. He wants to stay with the Heat, but as he put it, a "wound has been opened". He has no personal problems with Riley, but he feels they are on opposite ends of the table at the moment. Again, nothing personal, but obviously at odds in the basketball/ business aspect.
It looks like a staring contest in the making, and if Riley is smart, he'll blink first because Wade IS the franchise player and seems to have the leverage in this situation. Wade wants help, but Riley won't give it to him until he knows the future of his superstar is secure in Miami. Again, not a huge development, but definitely something to keep track off with Wade's impending free agency next year. Now, the possibility of Wade leaving Miami is greater, and perhaps a glimmer of hope that he'll end up in his hometown.
Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope Riley's ego gets in the way of solving the issue, opening the door for Wade's exit.

I think Wade wants out I just have this feeling..
like where there is smoke there is fire. I think he’s inching his way out. I hope I should say.
hope so too
id be the firsdt to cop a wade jersey
I was watching the 1995 Playoffs VS the Magic's and remembered how much I hated Horace Grant. Horace Grant - i hope you burn in bball hell
No
I just heard him on Dan Patrick say he doesn’t think he could play in a cold weather city! Todays NBA players!
What do I think of Luol Deng? The only time he's ever played a full 82 games was a contract year. Thats called bullshitter my friends!
Probably just Wade softing the battle from pressure of Riley
Riley is a hall of famer (coach) and due respect should be given.
Wade would have no problem playing in the city his mother loves, with so many family and friends. Wade could buy the best furnance money can buy, plus he grew up here. He knows the cold weather here just like many on BaB who deal with it every year still complaining always.
man up!
Hope in Miami
BULLieving in Miami is our Bulls Miami insider. I also read this. It does sound like a rift between Riles and Wade. What concerns me is the financial hit these 2010 free agents will have to take to sign with another team. I believe there will be a $30 mil negative difference if you do not sign with your present team.
LOL. hell yeah.
i’m like a Bulls spy down here, keeping tabs on a semi-rival in the Heat, and keeping tabs on Chicago’s favorite sun. the thought actually came across my mind as i was writing this yesterday and made me chuckle. i’m glad you acknowledged it.
now i need to get hired by the Heat as a rogue agent and sabotage their franchise.

and...
30 mil is 30 mil. but i would hope that a superstar player like wade wouldn’t have to stress too much about his basketball paycheck when he has as many indorsements as he does. and in that aspect he can make as much as he wants. he can shoot a couple more spots with the chuckster to make up for that 30 mil.

The trick is to make a deal for Boozer
then prove to Wade that a line-up of
Rose
Wade
Deng
Boozer
Noah
could bring him closer to a title than whatever Riley can put together will.

Even with Sam Smith recanting and changing the numbers
would you give up about 30mil to play for a different and possibly better team. It looks like the only way any of these max level players switch teams is through a sign and trade. : (
it is so frustrating that the only place to chat about he bulls is dominated by a whiny drama queen moderator with a man crush on an average SG. I get that he was fun to watch and one of the Bulls best players in a decade, but re-signing him wouldn’t have helped the Bulls as much as people are assuming, IMO.

If you have cap space you can sign and trade for draft picks
This can work out just as well. I would trade a 1st rounder for Wade straight up any day. Plus MIA would get a fat trade exception from it.
