Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

A possible solution to many of our problems.

Mind you this is all based on rumors/things i've found online.

EDIT: I basically worked this into a 3 team deal that seems a little more lopsided than initially intended. but only because the salaries are difficult to match.

Also, this is predicated on the assumption that Portland will sign Turkeyglue.

CHI gets:

Boozer, Rudy F., Steve Blake

Portland Gets:

Kirk, Anthony Roberson, Cash or future 1st round pick?

Jazz gets:

Ty Thomas, Salmons, Travis Outlaw

The salaries match up

I honestly just read on RealGM about jazz wanting to trade Boozer,  and thought maybe they would be happy with that haul?

The more i think about it, the more i think that neither the blazers or the jazz would go for it, but it would be pretty sweet

A lot of Portland fans would do this.

We have a hard on for kirk, big time.

Brandon Roy is the Shawn Kemp of monogamy.

I would do it

But Gar and Pax dont have the balls too. Boozer then could be traded at the deadline for Bosh.

that's why...

its a trade proposal. Boozer just said that he wasn’t going to exercise his opt-out clause in his contract.

I honestly believe this would have a chance

The Blazers would just need a decent pg after getting the Turk, and I truly believe that the Jazz would dump Boozer for cap relief in order to keep the younger, healthier, less douchebaggier, Paul Millsap.

Boozer as trade bait

I honestly believe getting Boozer for cheap could be the key to trading for Bosh. Just as Detroit was able to make a cap clearing move without getting criticism by taking back an “all-star” in the Billups-AI trade, the Raptors could make a Bosh for Boozer, James Johnson, Asik and a draft pick trade without taking a lot of criticism by using the “we got an all-star and a few young pieces… we are shaking things up, not re-building” card. Even more so because there is no risk with Boozer, because if he doesn’t pan out they could let him walk in one year and if he does work out all they have to do is pay him (after all, as long as he gets his money he is happy) and since they will own his Bird rights they can pay him more than anyone else.

trade(s)

look fine and fair enough to me, given the craziness of perceived value and gm motivations the last couple of years. i prefer tyrus to boozer, but it might work out. i think boozer will have an exceptional (contract) year, if healthy, but then you’d have to make a big commitment to him, and i just don’t think his track record is deserving.

That's the beauty of him on an expiring deal, if he has a big year, he's more valuable at the trade deadline

or, they let him expire and have the capability to target someone else. Boozer’s certainly a scary proposition as a long term piece, but on a one year deal right now, he’s very intriguing.

We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look.

The Blazers will never trade Rudy. He is an untouchable for them.
