Portland's pursuit of a certain player from Turkey has infuriated the Trail Blazers' lone remaining Spanish player, Rudy Fernandez, to the point where he'd prefer to play in Greece, Russia or even Spain again, ESPN.com learned Tuesday.

I would love to see him in a Bulls uniform...
buts thats probably not going to happen. I’d be willing to lose BG to get him.
"Rest satisified with doing well and leave others to talk of you as they please"
no way
the guy hasn’t proven anything yet, all of prichard’s talents are vastly overrated

HINRICH FOR RUDY AND BLAKE
then they could get Head o’ Turkey Glue….i could so get behind this…
On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!
Send him here along with Steve Blake and pick(s)
for Hinrich. As long as we resign BG. Then we got:
PG: Rose, Blake
SG: Gordon, Fernandez, Salmons
SF: Deng, Salmons
PF: Tyrus, TiT
C: Noah, Miller
We should have enough expirings next summer to go after a big free agent and we’ll have a couple 1st rounders as trading chips (if we need ’em). This team as is should make the playoffs as a 4-6 seed without problem.

gordon/rudy?
oooo laa laaa
I was watching the 1995 Playoffs VS the Magic's and remembered how much I hated Horace Grant. Horace Grant - i hope you burn in bball hell
Both teams would be good too
Portland would look like this
Hinrich
Roy
Turkey Glue
Aldridge
Oden
Thats still very competetive, plus roy has alot of help now on both offense and defense with the addition of hinrich and Turk. Meanwhile the bulls have a strong bench in blake, Rudy, and salmons….jeez get this done!
On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!
Screw it, let Gordon walk if they get Rudy.
I don’t care if it doesn’t work. Rose, Fernandez, Deng, Thomas, Noah, Johnson + Room to sign a max free agent scares the bejezus outta me.
People should remember that while they have the right to their opinion, they are not entitled to be taken seriously. --Bruce Bartlett

Fernandez would come off the bench
salmons woudl start, but yea i think they would be competetive, they would probably lose the clutchness gordon brings, but they would be competetive and have alot of money left over to sign (finally?) that star pf/c that the bulls so desperately need….recd
On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!
I will point out that the Bulls aren't getting a free agent this year.
I was not talking about this season. I would also suggest that the fact that I didn’t list Salmons or Miller should indicate this.
I apologize for not making this clearer.

My bad
actually i shouldve picked up on that, and i was thinking about 2010 but i just forgot that salmons may opt out (then again he also might not or the bulls may re-sign him or something…) and that brad may retire or something…so thats my fault…
On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!
Ahh, if only Hinrich was going to be traded
Fernandez would be amazing next to Rose. Horrible defense, but who cares about that anymore?
The Chicago Bulls.....the more profitable Los Angeles Clippers.
Who says he plays horrible defense?
From what I’ve gathered, he’s at least average, possibly very good at it. I’d love having him here.
Blazers fans, my vaunted eyeball test. He did play a good chunk of minutes at SF, so that could contribute to my assumption

I think Rudy is a great, great fit. Hinrich for Blake + Rudy. Get 'er done, GarPax and I won't even miss Ben!

ah, I forgot about that. Doesn't that go away, though, if they sign Hedo (the impetus for such a trade in the first place)?

Good point
damn, I got excited for a minute. It seems like the Blazers are a team that would potentially go into the luxury tax if they thought it made them a contender.
by Rose Colored Goggles on Jul 1, 2009 3:25 PM CDT up reply actions
They'll gladly go into the LT when they have to pay Roy and Aldridge big money next summer
And potentially Oden, Batum, and Bayless the year after.

Did Bayless even really do anything this year?
other than get barked at by KG?

no, he's WILDLY overrated.

Exactly,
but I keep hearing rumors that Portland says he’s basically untradeable (unless they’re getting a legit starter or two in return, and that’s just ridiculous). I only watched about 10-15 Blazers games last year, but I do not remember being at all impressed when he was on the floor.
by Rose Colored Goggles on Jul 1, 2009 3:42 PM CDT up reply actions
yeah, his 8.5 PER this year was AWFULLY impressive. Oh wait, no it wasn't, it was just awful.

That's the perception
but a report said other wise that came out around the trading deadline. Nope, not going to look for the link, got to work.

Why wouldn't Portland just tell Fernandez to go to hell?
He’s under contract for next season, so he can’t go to Europe even if he wants to. He’s got an extremely affordable salary, so they’d be foolish to trade him.
Why resort to name calling?

I think that's the most likely scenario.
But we can dream can’t we?
by Rose Colored Goggles on Jul 1, 2009 3:16 PM CDT up reply actions
He could refuse to play. He could pout. He could generally ruin the "good guy" vibes they've got going in their locker room. He could do plenty.

He could be a giant asshole in the locker room
Nate McMillan isn’t the greatest coach in the world, Rudy would have plenty of supporters who feel underused (namely anyone not named Brandon Roy or LaMarcus Aldridge).
I never underestimate the power of a group of guys just collectively tuning out their coach, it happens all too often in the league.
The Chicago Bulls.....the more profitable Los Angeles Clippers.

Without Ben Wallace to channel that negative energy, it'll never happen :)
I do think you’re right though, but it has nothing to do with Nate or the players, just the fact you can’t absurdly over-stock your roster indefinitely without pissing guys off.
My guess is Rudy would be fine if they jettisoned Steve Blake and Jerryd Bayless, thus ensuring he had an obvious, important, and consistent role and minutes.
The Euro league has no ties to the NBA,
They do not have to look at him as under contract, right?

what, is he a Bull already?
kidding, somewhat: I wouldn’t entertain the whining. At least not yet.
Remember though that he is coming to Portland way under market value. I wouldn’t doubt that part of an agreement to play for the rookie scale was some assurance to playing time.

After watching Rudy a bit, he's nice, but he's not "versatile"
He looks mainly like a 2 guard to me. And a skinny one at that. I don’t see him as a 3 at all. Or a 1.
So hey, if we let Ben walk and then trade Kirk for Rudy and change, it’ll be a decent recovery IMO, but I’m not even sure I consider Rudy a really strong SG prospect.
Well, I was just hoping that we would use the cap savings from the trade
to resign BG. But knowing JR…

Just anything at this point.

Right
I feel like the girlfriend who really wants her boyfriend to just do anything to show that he cares. I really want the Bulls to do SOMETHING that shows me they care about putting a winning product on the floor. Unfortunately, they seem content with just taking our money and running.

Also a very valid analogy.
I was just going off the “show me you care!” vibe. But point well taken.

this is just the first of many
Rudy, Sergio (until traded), Bayless – young guys do not like to spend their first few years in the NBA languishing on the bench. If the Blazers get Turk that means Rudy will have 2 guys who demand 38 minutes a game at the wing positions, plus Batum/Bayless/Outlaw and Webster fighting for minutes. Add in the fact that the Blazers play a slow pace and these guys have no opportunity to show their stuff.
The Bulls SHOULD BE PROACTIVE in acquiring about Rudy – but they won’t. This organization lacks the creativity and planning to pounce on situations like this when they present themselvs.

Stolen from BE
LATE ADD: The word around the league is that Rudy’s agent has made it clear to the Trail Blazers that if Turkoglu signs with Portland, it’s time to trade Rudy.
The Chicago Bulls.....the more profitable Los Angeles Clippers.
Would it be insensitive to go to BE and start taunting Turkoglu is Prithcard's Nocioni?
We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look.
Ronald Reagan
Man the more i think about this the more i want it to happen
Turk and Kirk (heh that rhymes) to Portland
Rudy and Blake to the bulls
let ben go to detroit
For the bulls (like tyger said above) They remain competetive and save a bunch of money (on insurance by switching to geico?) i mean look at the roster with blake and rudy
Rose 36/Blake 12
Salmons 28/Rudy 20
Deng 34/ Salmons 8/ Johnson 6
Tyrus34/Noah 8/ Taj 6
Noah 28/ Miller 20
I think thats a competetive team. Contender? Hell no! But definetly playoff bound (even if just barely) and i think thats all they need to be. Then in 2010 you sign a free agent and try to pull off some more trades….i dont know i like this alot
On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!
If they just have a good defensive team
i think they can maybe match the record from this year, i think alot will depend on the development of rose and noah (im sort of giving up on tyrus but his development could help too) not to mention a 100% healthy deng. D. Rose gets to the line more this year (like gets to the line as many times as he should have last year, cuz he got hit but wouldnt get hte foul) and if noah contiues to play the way he did during hte post season, and deng just becomes productive again instead of a ball hogging hassle with injuries, yea i see this team on just offense alone being able to get to 45-50 games. Depending on who they play maybe the second round. I just see it being a win situation for everyone (detroit gets the sg and forward they want in bg and charlie, Blazers get the defensive pg they want and a forward who could defienetly help out roy late in games, bulls management gets to shed money and save money, bulls fans get to watch an at least offensively entertaining team.
On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!
The key would be for us to land Bosh
Deng to return to form and avg 18 ppg and 7 to 8 rpg. Noah would have to Avg 10 rpg and 2 bpg and Rose would have to take a jump in scoring, assist and defense. How is this lineup?
Rose / Blake
Fernandez / Salmons
Deng / Salmons/ Johnson
Bosh / Johnson/ Gibson
Noah/ Miller
Homecoming
Just go 2010-11 forward please. Salmons and Miller are gone. Asik and Johnson are in the rotation. Gibson is irrelevant.
Assume these things.
People should remember that while they have the right to their opinion, they are not entitled to be taken seriously. --Bruce Bartlett
Shouldnt assume anything about gibson or johnson or even asik
until we’ve seen them play (johnson may not be that great in the bulls "system’ while taj migh be, Asik may have truly screwed up his legs so he may be worse than gray when he finally comes to us)
On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!
the rumors are false
go check on bedge theirs a update. hey keep dreaming tho
Oden...Aldridge...Roy.....THE REAL BIG THREE
Wasn't it always Outlaw, Blake +
Besides matching up the salary. Wasn’t the trade Outlaw, Blake + something. for Kirk. I suggested Rudy as that something many times, but PorlandNation goes nuts when ever you would talk about their fan favorite.
Rudy can replace BG on the cheap. Blake can take over Kirks backup role at a reasonable salary, and Outlaw can add depth to back up the 3/4 when Tyrus and Deng bring back a certain power forward from the North. Outlaw / Johnson excite me at the 3.
Rose / Blake / Lindsey
Salmons / Rudy
Outlaw /Johnson
Bosh / Johnson / Noah
Noah / Miller / The Taj
With plenty of options in 2010!
If Bosh Dream is just a dream
Send Outlaw / Tyrus to NY for David Lee in a sign & trade
Rose / Blake / Lindsey
Salmons / Rudy
Deng / Johnson
Lee / Johnson / Noah
Noah / Miller / Taj.
more realistic…
