Scary thing is

I have a sick feeling he’ll be our big free agent signee….

Oh well.

God I hate Aaron Gray.

THE BULLS ARE GOING TO WIN IN 2010....maybe by stating this the positive vibes can make it happen.

How is Gray worth hating?

Another Big Man?

Haven’t we have enough already?

by bull83 on Jul 1, 2009 10:44 AM CDT reply actions

btw, Shamsports has Gray's QO at

$1,000,497

Think he beats that offer anywhere? Why are we paying Aaron Gray a million bucks?

seriously

Can’t they just renounce him and sign him to the minimum? Guess they like his practice habits…

by kingj41 on Jul 1, 2009 10:55 AM CDT up reply actions

I think they can do that still, actually

rescind the QO and then offer the minimum? I’m not sure what dance needs to be done when players take or don’t take that QO

but why offer the QO in the 1st place

If he got any other offer, would it be worth matching? Why offer the QO simply for the right to match? He’s not valuable. I just don’t get it.

by kingj41 on Jul 1, 2009 10:59 AM CDT up reply actions

yeah, i'm pretty sure they can rescind it at any time before he accepts it

didn’t the magic do that with darko when they were trying to get lewis?

Because he's worked hard and been professional

This organization has a long tradition of rewarding players like that even if it sometimes means paying more than market value. You cannot put a price on character.

How has Aaron Gray worked hard and been professional?

Gray came into the league fairly talented but kind of a fatty and not in NBA shape.

After two years with the Bulls, that’s still exactly what he is. He’s not improved his conditioning one iota. He’s not noticeably improved anything else either.

Makes me wish I was born with the genes to be fat and 7ft tall

I would be a millionaire in my 20s, even with no athletic ability.

Is that true?

I’m guessing no, but it reminded me of Gray’s dropping 20lbs last offseason, and being the only player to noticably improve himself last offseason.

All things considered, I think he’s a decent 3rd center. If he drops weight or adds a jumper or something else this offseason, we’ll have a usable piece.

by YaoPau on Jul 1, 2009 12:21 PM CDT up reply actions

No

and for the record, I don’t think he noticeably improved. And he got fatter, again, as the year went on.

Perhaps he lost 20lbs last off-season, but I think if he actually did, it’s because he’d gained about 15lbs over the course of a rookie season (he admitted he put on weight as a rookie) in which he probably already started out 15lbs overweight.

Can we just set the expected win total at 33 next season

and call it a day?

Start practicing your boo now...

you’re gonna need it. Then again, if you do boo, you’ll be joining in w/ the simpletons who would boo even a good team, so maybe devise another way to show your dislike for the team. Maybe a sign is in order? How close are your seats? If you face the Bulls bench you might wanna just make a big “STOP SWITCHING” sign to remind Vinny.

It wasn't a horrible move, just a move

Now we got a 13 guys signed for next season including Jerome James, who won’t play and I included our two rookies as well.

Our depth chart

Rose/Hinrich/Roberson
Hinrich/Salmons
Deng/Salmons/Johnson/Tim thomas
Thomas/Johnson/Gibson/tim thomas
Noah/Miller/Gray

I don’t expect Gray, Tim Thomas, or Roberson to play much if any. Hopefully we sign Gordon, but I have a feeling we won’t. So that means we will need another guard. But the Bulls feeling is that this roster is set for next season. Damn, I hate rooting for this team that is so conservative and only cares about profit.
