Another BG domino falls, as one of the Pistons rumored targets is now off the market. Whether they now target Millsap is an open question. I'd be interested in S&T-ing Gordon to the Jazz for Boozer's remaining year. The Bulls could then compete this year and hopefully replace Boozer in FA next summer. Of course, this would require the Bulls to go into the luxury tax, but it would at least give them another asset (a Boozer expiring deal) for a trade for Amare or Bosh. In the meantime, Boozer is one of the best PFs in the league, when healthy.

well, shit.

1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

that could just be posturing for better offers, though.

I’d bet anything those reports came from the Suns organization and not Amare’s people.

Meh, I think I'm over the Amare thing.

Does anyone really want to pay that guy the max? No thanks.

I'd consider it

I mean, where else are we going to get a legitimate superstar to put next to Rose if the Bosh thing doesn’t work out. Are we really ready to put all of our eggs in the CB4 basket?

The best deal is to offer Deng and Tyrus to the Jazz for Boozer

our goal should be to lure Wade here in 2010. If we also trade Hinrich for Outaw and Blake then resign BG our lineup would look like this.

PG – Rose
SG- BG
SF – Salmons
PF – Boozer
C – Noah

I think a trio of Wade, Rose and Boozer could fetch a couple of rings.

really not a bad plan

of course this is all predicated on Boozer being healthy and productive long-term and Wade being willing to come here. He seems to really like it in Miami. The nice part of the deal is that we get a one year look at Boozer before we have to decide on him long term. On the other hand we’re getting rid of two starters for a guy who might not be here a year from now — kind of a waste of assets.

It just depends on how you look at it I guess.

Again, who wants Deng until he proves he's back from injury

Won’t happen until the trade deadline. And personally, if he’s back from his injuries, I don’t want him to leave for Amare

I admit it would be a risk because both Wade and Boozer are prone

This leads us to the big question? Rose is 20, Deng is 23, Noah is 23 and Tyrus is 22 do we stand pat? And hope we can land Bosh in 2010? and if we do are going to be good enough to win a ring?

I wanna say

that each organization has ways of finding out exactly how healthy players are…and they dont have anything to do with actually watching them play during game time…things like doctors and professionals saying or documentation that we dont have access to or see…

On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!

Only...

once you’ve signed Wade what do you do with BG?

by CubFan81 on Jun 30, 2009 8:09 PM CDT up reply actions

Or more money to throw at Millsap...

Or Gooden, or Gortat or Varajeo or Villanueva…or any other free agent big man that is out there…that is their first need to be addressed this Summer…

If they overpaid for Varejao I'd laugh

I agree signing Gortat or Milsap should priority #1 for Detroit. Getting Gortat and Gordon isn’t a bad summer, and trading Hamilton should bring back some value.

The Chicago Bulls.....the more profitable Los Angeles Clippers.

Potential Boozer Trade

No one is going to want to take on Deng and that contract, at least not until he proves he’s healthy and a 17 PPG scorer again.

It’s obvious that Utah has to move Boozer. They are already over the luxury tax, let alone how bad it is going to be once Millsap gets a big offer. I doubt they let Millsap go in favor of Boozer, who is not a favorite of the owner or the fans.

How about Tyrus, Jerome James’ expiring-and-paid-by-insurance-contract, plus a protected #1 for Boozer? It saves Utah about $3.5 million with the LT, and a total of about $8 or $9 million if insurance pays for James. Tyrus is the athletic, shot-blocking PF that will complement Okur and Millsap pretty well.

Meanwhile we get a PF who can rebound and score and is at his best with a talented PG getting him the ball, and it doesn’t hurt us from a 2010 perspective. If healthy, he might be a better fit than either Bosh or Amare (who has his own injury concerns).

If Boozer turns out to be a great fit, we can resign him for a better deal next year than anyone else. I’d hate to have all of my eggs in the 2010 basket with no big names of our own to try to sign first.
