At least he doesn't seriously compare them, he knows hes dreaming. The interesting part is when Sam says he's talked to Horace and said Taj is welcome to work with him when he wants to.

Corie Blount and Dickey Simpkins are better comparisons

Hopefully neither Johnson or Gibson ends up sharing the fate of Corie Blount.

I am warming up to JJ

I was as confused & suprised as the next guy when the Bulls drafted two forwards (neither named Blair). Seeing how the Bulls will have to deal with Lebron for the next decade, I am all for the Bulls trying to counter with a larger quicker SF then Deng. Cleveland never could stop Jordan back in the day, so they never got them to the finals.

Johnson might have a better skill set to guard against a beast like Lebron – maybe better than Deng, hopefully better than Victor Kryapa or Chris Duhon… If not, JJ could always Kungfu him.

If Deng & Tyrus can be traded for Bosh, this draft really makes sense. If not Tyrus fate, might end up with the Bulls renouncing his rights (or sign in trade) next summer when they fill the PF whole with a free agent. This draft actually does give the Bulls option to make a move this summer or at the trading deadline. With this draft the biggest question is now being shifted back to BG because it seems like Tyrus fate is sealed.

That's why I am confused over Blair not getting picked

I know his draft stock plummeted somehow…. Wouldn’t Blair be better trade bait than JJ or Taj? If you choose between Deng, Tyrus, JJ, Blair to fill the shoes of Bosh (or Amare for that matter) in a trade…. that seems better than taking any one of those guys out of the realm of possibilities to replace with Taj Gibson.

I hope Taj proves us wrong and does turn into Sam Smith’s “Pippen”.

Taj

Is here to replace Tyrus’s defense ‘ala Grant’. The skilled 3 with the dreaded word “potential” is Johnson ‘ala Pippen’. The drafting of Taj symbolizes an end of Tyrus period, especially if word is out that Tyrus and Vinny were butting heads in the Boston series.

Coaches, managers, or anyone in a position of authority (even outside the sporting world) have to make a stand every once in a while if they feel the there authority or respect is being challenged, or they might risk losing the whole team. I see this as Vinny’s stand. He is showing that this is his team and sending a message. Im not saying that I agree with Vinny’s stand, but I do agree that Tyrus’s days as a Bull are numbered. I just hope Tyrus still holds some value that is probably why the Boston misunderstanding was kept so quiet.
