Bulls should of tried to get O'neal

Star-divide

The Chicago Bulls will always be the same mediocre team as long as they don't have a big man. I was really disappointed that Cleveland acquired Shack. John Paxson should of made more of a move to get this man. The Bulls need a low post man for Ben Gordon to pass the ball around to more instead of taking all those ridiculous shots. I remember how the Knicks and Pistons had a low powerful man in the middle with Bill Lambieer and Patrick Ewing. The Bulls have not had an All Star at center since Artis Gilmore. Every successful organization has always had a big man in the middle.

The Bulls were able to win all those titles without a star center because they had so many other stellar players. Bill Cartwright was just an average player and the Bulls were lucky teams were unable to expose this weakness. It is time now for the Bulls to make a deal and bring a big man into the lineup who will score and intimidate the other team. Until they do this they will always be a .500 hundred team and get eliminated in the first or second round of the playoffs. Now Cleveland will have Shack to go along with Lebron's offensive skills and the Bulls still have Kirk Hinrich, Luol Deng, and Ben Gordon. The Bulls missed the ball and will probably waste their money on some scrum player like they did with Ben Wallace. Don't expect much from this team without a big man.

Who is "Shack"?

I had forgotten about him.

Yes we need a big man

but i don’t think a 37 year old center is the Bulls answer. The bulls need a younger guy that will still be good when Derrick Rose hits his prime.

exactly.

Shaq is done. He put up ok numbers last year but he is no longer a difference maker. Hell the couple times we played Phoenix last year, he didn’t even do much against our bigs.

I’m tired of people lusting after vets wayyyyyy past their prime. Shaq as of 3 years ago…yeh let’s go for him.

Is a 37 y/o center the answer? Let’s make moves but not just do things to say we’re doing something?

Shaq sat out the first game against the Bulls, IIRC.

He gave Rose a nice alley-oop in that video in the fan shots.

See, it has happened. Even on the fastbreak. I’d figured you’d remember that one.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

dude

they need a good coaching staff who can squeeze the lemonade out of those lemons..

i think we haven’t seen the best of their players and their best as a team. Noah is already training hard, so that’s a start of the “Bulls may or may not have a legit big man era”. i think they should stay put as a team and see what happens until the trade deadline next year, in my opinion.

by Aiafati on Jun 27, 2009 7:34 PM CDT reply actions

Yay. First Jalene Rose and now Shack

I thought we needed to rebuild around Jalene Rose and now you want Ben Gordon to “pass the ball around to” Shack?

The Bulls can make lemonade out of this

because this was a dumb move that makes it that much tougher for the Cavs to succeed in 09-10. Then if, as expected, LeBron James becomes a free agent in just about one year from now, the Bulls should have as much of a shot as anyone. NY wants him of course, but why would LeBron want to go from a mismanaged team to a disasterously mismanaged team? If he has any sense he won’t go to NY. Nor can I seem him going to LA if Kobe is staying.

Forget about Chris Bosh, can you imagine LeBron and Rose? I’m not so sure that would not be a combo even greater than Pippen-Jordan.

I think they did!

Clearly angryandy is VDN sharing his thoughts on what the Bulls should do. He just wants somebody to listen to him. I’m listening…go ahead AA…it’s okay.
