Noah getting HUGE?

" A shirtless Joakim Noah strutted around Berto Center, showing off an upper body that was noticeably bulked-up"

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/chi-26-bulls-bits-chicago-jun26,0,3573766.story?track=rss

If this is true, this is great news for us.  As long as he can keep his stamina and athleticism, he needed this bulk to push back against Dwight, Perkins, Lopez, Shaq, all those guys in the east that have been beasting him around.  This is great news for the bulls, as he has every possibility to be the C of the future to build around, with his hustle, athleticism, and passion for the game.

HOPEFULLY

man, it would be sick if he polished his offense..

I need photographic proof...

Bc he was still scrawny when those beach photos were taken last month. But it sounds promising.

Ha, those photos were what, like 2 weeks after the season ended?

The Chicago Bulls.....the more profitable Los Angeles Clippers.

by Ozzie Montana on Jun 26, 2009 3:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Maybe that is what did it for him.

Those beach pictures showing up on the net caused him to hit the gym hard once he got a peek at himself.

Hopefully he's not on the Sammy Sosa workout plan

Well, if it gets him close to being one of the best players in the game, go for it

From the same article...
The Bulls are debating hiring a big man’s coach, with 1983 first-round pick Sidney Green emerging as a possibility

I’m going to chime in and say “yes”

by YaoPau on Jun 26, 2009 4:50 PM CDT reply actions

who the crap is Sidney Green?

1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

well that would be kinda cool. anyone that is cool with JoNo is cool with me.

Sydney Green

Green played here in New York with the Knicks and was known to be lazy. A big body but very lackadaisical. He was about 6’ 10" but lazy and unmotivated. Hope he doesn’t pass that on to Noah.

by SlamDunk on Jun 26, 2009 9:39 PM CDT up reply actions

My goodness, how young are you guys really???

I guess I’m just old school as hell because I remember when Sidney Green was a player for the Bulls….along with guys like Jawann Oldham, Dave Corzine, Steve Colter, Ronnie Lester, Kyle Macy, David Greenwood (who we got after losing the coin flip that would have altered the course of Bulls history and delivered Magic Johnson to Chicago), Ricky Sobers (my uncle calls me Rick to this day because Sobers was my favorite Bull before MJ), etc….

Anyway, why the hell are the Bulls considering hiring Sidney Green? He had about 1.5 post moves. The Bulls need to throw about $4M at Hakeem Olajuwon or Moses Malone and have them come and do what Kareem is attempting to do for Bynum or Ewing is attempting to do with Howard. I love that they reach out to Bulls players but I can’t stomach any more Mike Browns/Pete Myers as player development guys…Unless they’re going to bring in Scottie Pippen and have him show James Johnson and Luol Deng how to play.

by lexdiamonds0730 on Jun 27, 2009 11:18 AM CDT up reply actions

Sidney Green? be serious..that's like hiring Pete Myers to work with your wings?

So Chicago Bulls like.. It’s probably a done deal.

Well I should give him a chance, Phil Jackson was a .journeyman basketball player, but a much better coach.

Yet, ulitmately we all know the outcome because there is so much already wrong with this organization. House cleaning is needed from the VP office on down…

man up!

The Bulls' problems start with JR.

by exult463 on Jun 26, 2009 8:26 PM CDT up reply actions

I don't know, I think it could be really effective

Not necessarily Sidney Green specifically, but getting tips and tricks from someone who had to play smart instead of relying on innate ability. There’s nothing worse than having a coach who just can’t get why you struggle with something because it was always so easy for them.

(Yes, I heard “You just do it” more than once in my unathletic youth – I had to take my revenge tutoring a couple of jocks in math.)

Maybe, and that's better than

hiring Pete Myers to work with your bigs, which actually happened for a couple years. I can’t make stories up about this Bulls organization anymore, there’s no point.

Being a good player

Is not a necessary requirement to being a good coach…as you noted with Phil Jackson, further supported by Larry Brown, Avery Johnson and even Pat Riley.

I've always feslt the best coaches are players who didn't have elite physical skills

But manage to stay in the league due to hard-work and knowledge of the game.

Speaking of huge...

…it’s interesting to hear Gar talk about Blair in the same item as a guy who shouldn’t have dropped (since the Bulls contributed to the drop). It makes me a feel a little bit better.

Sidney Green

If sidney green had a good coach and played for Phil Jackson he would be a hall of famer. The man had moves in college that NBA coaches wereunable to bring out in him

How about Robert Parish?

Nah, him and Noah would probably just get high all the time.
