Thanks for the post
While it is random, it’s a nice article.
Here’s my top 5 schools right now this second (last 4-5 years):
1) UCONN, seem to constantly turn them out-Allen, BG, Okafor, Bulter, Hamilton, on and on and on. Has too many all stars or could be all stars.
2) Wake Forest. 2 of the likely top 5-8 players of the last 10 years are from wake, oh and so was Josh Howard. Any team to have the all time best PF come in this modern generation gets a nod (Duncan), then add in the new premier PG for likely a long time (Paul) and that’s something. In impact, perhaps they should be the right now #1 since Paul and Duncan probably have a greater impact each than the best 2 combined of UCONN, but oh well, UCONN just has a ton of them.
3) Duke. Rarely get the true superstar (I know Grant HIll for a time was the exception) but rarely get huge busts either. Surprised that the article didn’t have Luol Deng in its top 5 (instead had Maggette and modern day old man Hill). Oh well Deng’ll bounce back next year. Boozer and if healthy Brand are the best right now and well they can be good when not hurt…
4) Florida. Gosh I hope, but David Lee, Mike Miller, Joakim Noah, Al Horford wow that’s a nice lineup…..
5) Texas. On the rise perhaps but early as Durant is incredibly gifted, and TJ Ford is underrated
I think the honorable mentions should include Marquette. Not because they have a lot of players or many good ones (I think there’s 3 in the league right now, and everyone’s thinking who are the other two: scrubby Dienier and hot shooting scrubby Novak, but Marquette is the only college to have 1 of the big 3 best in the NBA players in D. Wade…

Thanks for reading
You make a lot of valid points. Marquette and Syracuse are both legit NBA producers if only because of D Wade and Melo, but they’re not very deep in terms of NBA talent.
In a few years Florida is going to be very impressive b/c I think Horford, Noah and Speights are going to continue to get better and make more and more of an impact on the league. Same with Texas and Kevin Durant (as you mentioned).
Unless Gerald Henderson has a big impact, I think Duke will fade. Especially after Grant Hill retires.

Yeah, you can't get much better than the best PF of all time and a PG who has had the two best PG seasons of the past 20 years.

High School
LeBron, Kobe, Kevin Garnett, Moses Malone, Shawn Kemp.
That Steve Nash is exactly the same as Kirk Hinrich, but worse.

And look at the bench (off the top of my head)
Al Jefferson, Josh Smith, JR Smith, Tyson Chandler, Darius Miles, Josh Childress….Dwight Howard!!!
It’s the most athletic team in the history of athletes.

Josh Childress went to Stanford
I think it’s the hair combined w/ the raw nature of his game, but I have a hard time remembering that myself

Lol high school is definitely the best producer of talent
There’s no challenging that. Which is why it’s so surprising that Stern made the one-and-done rule (or I should say the rule that produced one-and-done). With so many high school success stories in the NBA you’d think they wouldn’t be so worried about it.

You can't use Bynum
He came out of H.S., but he’s just not that good yet. Everybody jumped the gun on him.
