Despite being cautious about adding salary in 2010, the Knicks will reportedly pursue Gordon as well.

Fuckkkkk
He is so going to want to play for D’Antoni. This is really depressing.
If we aren't careful, the leanness we now feel will be the starvation of those we serve.

if BG leaves...
I will honestly be depressed to some degree…I was when Tyson had that one decent season for the Hornets. Watching BG on ESPN highlights I must turn away.

A certain someone predicted he would sign with the Knicks for the MLE
http://www.blogabull.com/2009/1/26/736826/is-it-imperative-to-trade#
Really, BG’s Publicist said it…Andrew gets major propers if this happens…that thread was in January.

God, I'm a dick.
Anyway, I haven’t predicting that because I think it is about the money with Gordon, but I have been saying that if I were him, I’d strongly consider going there for the MLE for 3 years, hope they get LeBron, and then two years later, sign your big-ass, Knicks-style 28 PPG contract

Maybe we can swap
Lee and BG for the same salaries (6 yr $60M)….that could be a nice consolation.
Sure in pure talent, I’d take Gordon any day, but Lee could fit this team with more depth inside.

Here's a really crazy thought
Why not just offer the better player, who would actually start for us, by the way, a bit more, and sign him. Rather than, you know, pay a backup nearly the same amount.
by Sports2 on Jun 23, 2009 10:10 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Here's the other thought
Why pay Deng and BG nearly $20+M a year when we have some real needs in the post.
David Lee might be a backup C, but he’s a starting PF.
I do agree that I’d rather have BG on our team. I’ve always been a BG supporter and said as much. But if he’s going for nothing, this is not a bad consolation prize at all….far better than nothing and fits a need for depth down low.
David Lee is not a bad player. I repeat David Lee is not a bad player…

Because letting Gordon go would create a "real need" on the outside?

Rose
Should be better offensively and Salmons and Hinrich can man the 2 well enough……especially if Rose is the superstar in the making we’ve seen.
I’d rather have the size than BG walking, and I do think we’re “closer” with Lee in the fold.
Personally would rather see Deng shipped out….but if that’s not possible, I don’t know if it’s best we keep both.
Course all this depends on what they see from Tyrus if anything this summer (I don’t know what they can see of offseason workouts….not sure if there are any rules there).
I like the idea of the guard heavy team we’ve had being that much heavier since Rose should be that much better….but if BG leaves for nothing, I think David Lee’s a great consolation prize….
I don’t think losing Gordon creates as much of a real need if we address that with further depth inside. If we let BG go and just hope Salmons comes in and wait a year….then that sucks.

In what world is David Lee a backup?
He put up 16/12 on 55% shooting in 35 mins/game last year? A backup? Seriously? If Tyrus averaged 16/12 for a season, people would be saying he should be an all-star.

He played in a pace-inflated environment, is undersized for center
And plays zero defense. Good player, but he’s not someone who would get 35 minutes on a good team unless he was paired with a great defensive center.
That Steve Nash is exactly the same as Kirk Hinrich, but worse.

Simply stating that he's "a backup" is a bit of an overstatement though
Plus, I’m thinking of him as a PF, where he’s sized just fine. He’s a starter for at least half the teams in this league, and a pretty decent one at that. Shitty defense and all.

What we hope (with some reason) what Noah will soon be.
unless he was paired with a great defensive center.

He played very well
In the year’s before he was in a “pace-inflated” environment….and also last I remember we have a pace-inflated team, at least the talent to be a pace-inflated team…..in the future.
Lee’s not a perfect C, but he can play time there (and his numbers proved he does a fair enough job there as is, but he next to Noah could be a nice, viable option and prepare us for the big D Wade in 2010…using the Miller, James, TiThomas and leftover from BG money.

OK, without passing on that snippet, we're talking about Scoop Jackson here
That was quite possibly the most ridiculous, drug-addled, nonsensical “7-point plan” ever. I can’t believe they let that idiot write for ESPN. Really anything public.
His plan:
1. Draft a fat guy with bad knees, calling it a no-brainer “iron-clad rock solid fool proof plan”
2. Hire Charles Oakley as player development coach!!! (Oh my god, my eyes).
3. Use the 26th pick to
a. Combine with Ben Gordon in a sign and trade that can’t legally be done.
b. Combine with Deng in a trade the only requirement for which is to have them gone by night’s end. No mention of what we get.
c. Draft Wayne Ellington. Presumably while keeping Deng and Gordon.
4. Break the league rules to pre-negotiate a deal for Gordon, who he wants to trade in step 3. Somehow, I suppose, we offer him so much he forgoes even trying to solicit offers from other teams
5. Or break the league rules to pre-negotiate a sign and trade of Gordon for TMac, who just had microfracture surgery. Thereby allowing us to not pay Gordon $10M or so this year so he can play for someone else while we pay TMac $23M not to play for us.
6. Offer Deng for Shaq, so we can pay him $20M to get mad and not play for us. Also, have the former GM do it, not the current one.
7. Auto-fellate.
Christ, what drivel.

Scoop is a very talented writer.
But this…I don’t know if i can take his work seriously ever again! This has gotta be a joke! The only point that makes ANY sense is number 7. And (slurp) I’m(slurp) already (slurp, slurp) ……..there!!!! GO BULLS!!!!(burp)

Yeah honestly
I wonder whats up with him.
I saw him on ESPN arguing with Skip Bayless and he implied that Andy Roddick was angry about losing to his opponent because he was black. And it was pretty much based off nothing. I dunno sometimes he can go way off base.

Off base, yes.
But he occasionally has some good ideas!! AUTO-FELLATE?! I’M ALL IN!!!

So
you don’t think the Chairman will pay for Shaq AND McGrady?
by nateroth on Jun 23, 2009 10:38 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Hell No!!
TMac MAYBE. A healthy McGrady would be AWESOME for the Bulls!! (Think DWades return to form this season) Bring in Bosh or Amare and we’ll get our championship!! TMAC IS BACK!!! A GREAT COMEBACK STORY FOR THE NBA!!! (I’m going to stop shouting now.)

Yeah, that was pretty much one of the worst articles I've ever written
in regards to a team I follow. What a moronic “thought process.”

Wait a second...
did you say “I’ve ever written”? Is Scoop Jackson Illini15 on BaB? If so… c’mon man! What were you thinking?!
by Rose Colored Goggles on Jun 23, 2009 11:59 PM CDT up reply actions 2 recs
Have Scoop tell JR
to pay that salary figure next year which includes 4 guys making over 10 million per year (Brad Miller at 11.5, Hinrich at about 10, Mcgrady at 18?, Shaq at 21?). That puts us at close to 10 million into the luxury overall and I’m fairly certain the Bulls are dead set against paying the tax next year — which is pathetic considering they’re the most profitable team in the NBA.
And no, that team would NOT win a championship. Can you imagine the freaking ego circus?!
