BG speaks: "I really don't know what's going to happen."
[From the FanShots. Not that Gordon would out himself and his agents as cheating the system, but it was worth a shot. -ed.]
KC titled his piece "Ben Gordon says he wants to stay with Chicago Bulls" and I have no clue why. Ben says nothing like that at all in the article...on the other hand, he didn't say the opposite either...but still...KC is a dum dum (The title's since been changed -ed.)

KC hahaha
thats amazing how you can mislead people by saying nothing at all. No where is BG quoted that he said he wants to sign with the Bulls.
If anything
But his words sounded hollow this time,he contradicts his headline.
Really when their is some theirs fire… it seems like he’s gone. The way I read the article BG seems giddy. But who knows. Most signs point to the rumor being true though.
Damn the Pistons? I guess if you really wanna stick it to the organization go to the rival in the same division. Uhhh man KC you’re killing me.
Bulls Confidential
He’s wearing his Bulls gear, talking about his dreams of a bright future, acknowledging his free agency and desire to get paid, while taking care to show that the Bulls door is still open. His stock answer about retiring in Chicago stopped resonating after last summer’s debacle, but it’s the right thing to say anyway, if only to maintain consistency in his approach. So I’m buying.
Hard to tell what that means for BG
considering he is a professional and will maintain his routines (sports camp appearances, regular workouts in the gym, wearing the Bulls gear, doing interviews) unlike some players during this stage of a bad negotiation who might be tempted to act out. I don’t think you could read into it one way or the other with him.
Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.
Dang 3rd shift copywriters
I wonder what made the dead tree edition.

I defer to the newspaper people in the crowd,
but it was my understanding that headlines are generally put on there by editors, not necessarily the author.
Correct

Do we know if Gar Forman talked to Ben Gordon personally since the season ended?
Pax did as he did with all the players, coaches, etc in a “before you go” chat.

Thanks
Aware of these notes. I was wondering if anyone had heard additional news.
I know the Bulls can’t negotiate with Gordon until July 1, but can they talk to him like “We want you back” or “Signing you to a contract extension is our number 1 priority”?

I'm throroughly confused on that
but either way it seems they could informally give him a pep talk. I’m sure teams do if they value the player.

They can definitely talk. Maybe no contract numbers...
…but like Matt said, you could certainly say in an exit interview, “what we’d like to see you do next year is……..” or “we don’t see you as an integral part of next year’s offensive schemes”. The latter would be funny.
People should remember that while they have the right to their opinion, they are not entitled to be taken seriously. --Bruce Bartlett
Or if they would have said, "We don't see you being part of our defensive schemes next year."
Which would be equally as funny.
But that presupposes that there is a defensive scheme next year.
Lots of Hinrich in the 4th
That’s our defense.
Lots of BG in the 4th. That’s our offense.
What will we do when both are gone and Vinny is still here? I shudder at the thought.

It's Vinny, right?
He forgets to get guys back in the game after giving them a breather – he’ll probably forget Ben and Kirk are gone and call the same thing.
Vinny: OK, guys. We’re down one with the ball. Everyone be sure to get a good spot on the floor to watch Ben’s iso.
Tyrus: Uh, coach? Ben’s on the other team now….
Vinny: Damnit, Tyrus, pay more attention when I talk! And don’t contradict me. I’m the coach.
Man-slave, bring me my PB&J!
Are we assuming..
that Tyrus was listening in the first place?
