Sam Smith on the Radio this AM
Not a big deal, but Sammie was on the Steve Sczczczczcaben (however you spell that guy's name) show this morning on Fox radio, and when talking about Phil Jackson coming back, said Jackson has a great relationship with ownership and management in LA. Paraphrasing, he said the Lakers are one of the league's best run team. The ownership is top notch, he said, fair and willing to pay at all levels, and, along with management, is willing to give him a voice in making player decisions and running the team.
The kicker... Smith goes on "pretty much the opposite of the situation he had in Chicago". :D
Part of that, I'm sure, was a swipe at Krause, but Smith went to pretty great length talking about the (high) quality of Jerry Buss's ownership.

Of course he has a great relationship with the Lakers organization...
he’s sleeping with the boss’s daughter.

While true, that's not what Sam was saying
He was saying the Lakers treat most everyone that works for them well (though presumably no one else gets Phil’s level of fringe benefits).
So Sam makes statements like that about the Bulls, and although it's true, he thinks in return they're...
going to feed him correct info about draft prospects and FA preferences? Nice.

I was decidedly pro-org. when it came to the dynasty breakup
but the last few years has me rethinking that.

meh...
…other side of the coin for me. I definitely thought they should’ve milked that cow…

The 90's Jordan teams should have been the "Cash Cows",
the way they lined JR’s pocketbook.

you were pro Jordan retiring, along with Pippen and Jackson leaving? What did you think was going to happen?

I didn't think Phil would stay
without Krause getting the boot. The Chairman was basically asked to choose between loyalties.
I know it’s wrong, but I blame Phil to this day.

I blame both for having ridiculous egos that had to be satisfied
And for allowing a souring work relationship to affect almost all the basketball decisions made in a 2-3 year timespan.
That Steve Nash is exactly the same as Kirk Hinrich, but worse.

I agree but...
but one of those guys’ massive egos has been buttressed by massive success since that decision was made. The other guy made probably the most steady stream of disastrous decisions a team has made in quite a while, was run out of the sport of basketball, and has, IIRC, been run out of baseball too since then.
