Good Luck Varejao getting the same amount of money

Even in the midst of the Shitconomy I think Varejao will definitey see some solid offers.

Wally, on the other hand…

Szczerbiak will be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career after completing a six-year, $63 million deal signed in 2002 with Minnesota

Might have some trouble matching that deal. I hope he socked away some of that money and didn’t spend it all on pomade and tanning booths.

Seriously...what was he thinking?

1. Do not make starting 5

2. Average 6 and 4 on a team with arguably the greatest player ever besides MJ

3. Miss over 35 games in 2 of your first 4 seasons

3. ???

4. Profit!

the article on ESPN

talking about ben wallace’s potential retirement says that he is going to try to get 10 mil per year. again.

i made a comment on that thread also. ;)

Might be a good plan, actually.

They’re going to be desperate to win the title next year to keep Lebron from leaving. If it means ridiculously overpaying a role player, that’s just part of the cost of doing business. Not that Verejao is that good, but the last thing they want to do is lose him for nothing and piss Lebron off.

10 mil?

I know Kenny Smith said they had to be delusional to come back from 3-1 but it looks like they haven’t snapped out of it yet.

It may not be that dumb

maybe Andy V could lock up a longer term deal this year, at round 4-5M. Sure he makes less than the 6M, but the overall value of the contract will be higher. Besides, next summer will be brutal for all FAs besides the upper-tier stars (Lebron, Wade, etc.)

Out coaching VDN, so easy a cave man could do it.

that's how I see it too

It’s almost always a good idea to opt-out, unless you’re on the tail end of your career.

Whats the odds that Pax is seriously considering this?

No surprises...

Varrajeo signed his last contract to opt out this year…he felt he was underpaid with his last deal and will now get a chance to test the open market this summer…Varrajeo will get a contract based on his size and potential…while conversely, big Z is on the downside of his career, and would likely take a pay cut if he were to opt out…
