Rondo of course, still running free.

I'm done watching the Orlando series

That slap was comical if anything. This is kinda disappointing to see they really aren’t consistent in this area. They always seem to also suspend a big name player when its game 5 and his team is up 3-2.

I get why they might feel a need to suspend Alston for that,

ridiculous though it was. That one’s techinicality all the way. It seems far more ridiculous in light of the other things haven’t resulted in a suspension.

But it’s rather irritating to think that if Rondo had done that instead of drawing blood on Brad or throwing Kirk off the court, then he would have gotten tossed. I think Hollinger actually put it well today, said something like even if the NBA has what they feel is a solid rationale for how they’ve handled each call, they’ve still created a really bad impression among fans that they aren’t consistent. And I still think that all started with Howard and Rondo not getting called for flagrants on the same day and Howard getting suspended for his and Rondo not even fined and/or upgraded to a f1.

I see why

only because he isn’t Jameer Nelson.
It just seems to me they do these things pretty much to show people they are playing by the book. But usually turns out to be them practically making an investment.

You obviously want Rondo to play in a game 7 or 6 in that high rated series.
And who cares if Dwight doesn’t play in game 6 because its not on TNT or ABC and they’ll likely play a game 7. Now I do think he should of been suspended it was obvious but it wasn’t like it would of been hard for them to declare it.
But at the end of all this why not give Rondo even a fine. Thats what I don’t understand….its not going to empty anyones wallet but Rondos. When you have consecutive plays like that as well.

Last year of course it was the whole ref situation. And they actually threw the refs under the bus game 4 of the WCFs. They came out and talking about a “none call” at the end of the game…..ok lost my train of thought (which is probably a good thing) forget this last paragraph.

Agreed.

If you’re a guard and you’re getting a flagrant and/or suspension, your name must not be Rondo.

And of course, Kobe isn't suspended

Kobe elbows Ron Artest in the neck -———> Refs call foul on Ron Artest.

That pretty much says it all about NBA officiating.

now that I've seen the replay about 20 times

I can see that he elbowed Artest in the upper-chest area, not really the neck. But to Artest’s defense, it seemed to be more of an intentional thing, rather than by chance.

The officiating still stinks though…

That's obviously a foul on Artest

How dare Artest get his upper body in the way of Kobe’s elbow. I was hoping Artest would rip Kobe’s arm off and beat him over the head with it.

Alston couldn't have injured a fly with that "slap", yet he gets suspended.

Meanwhile, Rondo’s muggings resulted in 12 stitches to 2 players and likely caused the Bulls to lose the series by not getting hit with a flagrant in the Brad Miller bloodfest. His body slam of Hinrich into the “NBA Cares” sign should have been a flagrant 2 and with him suspended for game 7, even with our gigantic handicap of being infected with Vinnydelswine flu disease, the Bulls would now be facing the Magic in round 2.

The three blind mice should have been able to see that Kobe elbow, which has become his unofficial trademark. Artest carried on the NBA tradition of the victim being punished instead of the perpetrator, as long as he is not a CDSS (certified designated superstar).

Which leaves me to ask this burning question. If the NBA awarded a Gold Medal for the most consistently incompetent performances of the year, would the recipient be our own anti-coach, Vinny DelSubbornboob or should Gold Medals be handed to each of the NBA officials whose collective efforts have made the NBA a laughingstock to basketball purists and those who still believe in truth, justice and the American way?

If you can't answer a man's arguments, all is not lost. You can still call him vile names.

#1, the refs have a hard job to do

The pro league is highly scrutinized, no matter what. They are pretty much in a perpetual lose-lose situation no matter what.

But these playoffs have been ridiculous for all the petty elbows, slaps, trips, whips, and flips between players. WTF is up with this year? The fact that the league looks at EVERYTHING afterwards tells me that they do have a small conspiracy happening. Kobe, Rondo, etc. Dwight would have passed also, I bet, if he didn’t make his so obvious.
If the Bulls series wasn’t so exciting (savior for the league for the 1st round) maybe Rondo would have got his just dessert after the Hinrich thing.
