Loves me some Jo Noah highlights
Although didn’t see anything from the playoffs, which coulda been a 2 min highlight clip on its own.
"Remember, I'm Italian".
More so makes me look forward to next season
but every time that happens we start like 4-12 or something
There are aspects of the offseason I enjoy
I like the draft, I actually really do like summer league even if the play is atrocious, and I like the anticipation of heading into training camp and a whole new season of possibilities.
But right now I’m still in major withdrawal. I think this period with the playoffs still going on is the worst – yes, there’s basketball to be viewed, but it’s not Bulls basketball and with the focus on the playoffs and our players taking their end-of-seaon breaks, there’s not much else Bulls-related out there.
I have so many things I need to get done – still haven’t caught up from putting life on hold for the Boston series – and yet I’m hanging out on BaB hoping for a little fix.
I’m pathetic. I need an NBA 12-step program.
Man-slave, bring me my PB&J!
You need NBA 2K9
at least Piccolo would agree.
I was hoping the Bulls would of been able to move on because also. The Celtics and Orlando series isn’t going to be that fun to me. Bulls always make it interesting…for the wrong reasons but still interesting.
Though I am looking forward to whatever happens with Houston. I’ve been saying for a while this is their year to get past the first round. And shut up the critics of Yao and Artest (too bad T-Mac got hurt).
It just felt like they were due.
And also its funny how Denver is kind of like the Pistons early this decade. They were basically a bunch of guys who were written off and felt like “rejects”.
Anyway both of them are very likable teams to me. (well Houston for the most part)
I’ll stop watching most likely if Alston gets suspended though cause thats just a load.
But the first step is admitting it….for some its also the last step.
I think 2k9 makes one more antsy
At first its cool, you go into association mode, you try to run a couple of trades, you decide whether kirk stays or goes, whether ben stays or goes. You do what paxson cant or wont, and you start competing against teams, losing only to those great teams like the lakers, the spurs, denver, houston, occasionally being upset by the thunder. And then suddenly the team chemistry begins to drop, guys want to be starters even though they arent anything but role players, the computer glitches you out of games that you should have won, you arent in the lottery and having trouble drafting talent, you begin to lose hair and sleep trying to figure out your next move….and suddenly your itching for something to happen in the actual nba….WELCOME TO MY WORLD!!

Hmmm
Well I got my SG to be an allstar so far and G Wallace might win MVP. Though I wish Okafor would grow a few inches.
But you don’t try and put some of your prospects in a mini camp or get some monthly development? I got this one guy whos around 6’10 he was a bust for a bit but now hes got a mid range jumper and can actual beat big guys off the dribble. Though DJ Augustine and Raja Bell think their all stars and want like 30+ minutes.
I’m actually only going on my 2nd season though cause I forget about my xbox from time to time.
I do put my guys in development camps
Well right now im on my 4 association mode. My first was when i first got the game. I put On 29 games, 9 min a quarter. It was real fun, and i was learning how to play the game while in association mode. This was during the start of the real nba season so…naturally i traded almost everyone and kept kirk and rose as my all star back court. Every month i would give kirk 3 pt training, and rose mid range training. I traded deng for kapono, i got rid of tyrus because i couldnt figure out how to use him, and eventually traded noah for marcus camby. I drafted this awesome center who i could describe as 7’1 290 lbs version of Tim Duncan. . AT the end of eveDude was kik ass, and i learned how to play in the post with him. every year i gave kirk per d camp and his steal rating was killer, rose is beast, and my center i trained after hinrich had hit a pont where he didnt need to train his 3pt shooting. It was a good association, at the end of it hinrich had 3 more years in his 2nd contract, alot of guys had retired, manu was a benchwarmer….it was fun. I think i was in the year 2015. THen my hard drive glitched…. :(
I had to restart my association, and i started one with amare on my roster, it was pretty boring lacking the excitement of the first one and way too easy. I started another one after the trades, in this one i turned the edit prospect option on. I found a guy who sort of (not really) looked like me. I went and edited his name to mine, i changed his shooting style, freethrow style, layup and post game style all to match what i do in real life (in real life i actually do shoot like walton, i have a similar, not exact though, way of shooting freethrows like Brandon Wright, i often do fake layups like rondo, and i tend to raise my knee on doing fadeaways like nowitski) i edited the stats which was the most fun, cuz i thought i got them just right. I ended drafting myself, and a few other real good players, got bosh, and i played 5 seasons through before my team ended up too good, and i had to have contracts done for hinrich, rose, and my guy…and i hated that my players were so good….the last guy i drafted though was killer! He was a 6’7 dude who had a great long range game, but his dunking skills were awesome, he had a custom dunk template, and did 360s like nobodys business, it was a cross between vince carter and lebron james dunks….with a little jamario moon mixed in….dude was sick…and i had no room for him on my roster, thats when i decided that i would restart my association once more.
My new association, i skipped ahead an entire season (ironically the bulls play the celtics in the first round, and WIN!) then came to this offseason, i signed ben gordon, and sent him, tyrus thomas, and first rounds for bosh….no regrets here. THe game isnt easy, bosh is awesome, i cant pound anyone inside, but he scores so easily with mid range jumpers, and beating guys off the dribble, as well as his beastly ability to rebound. Kirk comes off the bench ( im trying to keep this season more realistic) salmons is my startin sg, and i run plays for deng to get his shots off. Noah is a defensive beast. Im in my second season right now, and its hard to play. I’m not doing as much training now, trying to play the game more realistically, and the good teams are beating me. Its more fun but i sort of know the limits in the game and i cant wait till 2k10 and hope the flaws are taken care of. I think personally 2k8 might have been my favorite 2k game.
Yea this is a long post, i often question whehter i should start a 2k9 thread, but eventually it will disapear and id want it to be there so i can continue posting new revelations of my 2k9 story (i like playying with a storyline in my head, and after im done playing i imagine what the tnt, espn, a nd comcast crews would say about my roster and my games).

Oh yeah its pretty leveled for me right now
Well my team anyhow. Feltons shot is underrated in the game so gotta get that up because hes a liability when my SG or Gerald get doubled. Wallace is a distant 5th in MVP voting. Okafor has trouble with genuine Centers…actually like in the real NBA. (I think they should look for someone to back him up so he can switch)
I can barely remember 2k8 at this point. I remember playing that game on Live and it was basically “this team is more talented there for they make all their shots”. I was always putting a hand in peoples face and then if I got Noah a wide open dunk it’d be like 50/50 him making it. It was kind of hilarious. But I was too dedicated to the Bulls at that point cause 2k7 obviously had a better Bulls team. I was always around 10-15 games over .500 depending how many I played. But I could basically get 20-25 games in a month so could never crack the rankings on there.
Not sure if they still have rankings though I got tired of sore losers messaging me back. Most of them just pick the Lakers or Cavs then have Kobe and Lebron do everything. It gets kind of boring to me I hope for a little strategy.
One time this kid was basically doing everything with Bron and they were up around 20 points. Kirk-Ben-Loul finally went off and were forcing turnovers and Lebron was like 12-14 might of missed his last 9-12 shots. At the end though the Cavs had a chance to win it and the guy telegraphed the pass so badly. Kirk picked it off and ran down court then was so far ahead of everyone else just waited there a few seconds and scored the winning layup. The guy was pretty mad but it felt like a win for everyone who sees too much of Lebron and Kobe fan boys and girls.
Right now I’m working on the association though I want our offense to be versatile. Cause theres two teams that kill us Portland and the Magic. They bombard us with treys and Roy is basically unstoppable. Boston-Cleveland are good matchups though.
Knowing all the analysts from tv. It’d probably be a combination of a bunch of cliches.
Another thing I wish whats his name…Kellogg? The dude always says someone is playing with an injury or is streaky in ever game no matter who it is. They need to fix that.
hah kellogg
yea i get that injury glitch too, it usually happens if there actually is a player on one of the teams thats injured, even if that player isnt playing, the next compliment towards a player will be the injury comment. I usually take it and put it into the story, derrick rose IS playing with an injury, and dunking on cats…
I always start the association trying to get the stars. D.rose is an automatic, and i usually couple him with a superstar big, i really like bosh. After that i basically try to create a well balanced team. The bench is the hardest part, i hate having guys have lower than 70 morales. So i usually trade players i dont care about for benchwarmers.
I just finished playing the lakers, and it was terrific. I had just come off a loss the thunder (damn you westbrook and durant!) and i play the lakers, and the first quarter the lakers are pwning me. I barely caught up at the end of the quarter to be down 8pts. The second quarter i took the lead 52 48 mainly due to some key blocks by my bench bigs and running more plays for luol. Hinrich came off the bench and i was able to run my favorite play, double cross, over and over again (i couldnt hit anything with salmons). Double cross is an awesome play where the pg starts at the top of th ekey, while the sf and the sg go to opposite ends of the baseline. The two bigs then set a screen under the rim and the sg and sf switch spots. The sg is the primary scorer in the play, he is suppposed to get behind the arch catch teh ball and knock down the three. The Sf is the secondary, he gets the ball a few feet in front of the arch, and then my pf (usually bosh) sets another screen set so the sf can drive baseline to the rim and score. Ultimately i watch the sf and sg go under the rim and note two things, did the big men’s screen slow down the defenders, if it did who got slowed down the most? Whichever player, the sg or the sf, who got the best screen, i usually throw the ball that way. The second thing is kyp, know your personel. If i set a screen, and one player is andrei kirlinko and teh other is kyle korver, im gonna pass it to whoever korver should be guarding no matter how good the screen kirlenko got.
In the third quarter, salmons came alive, and went to the line for 13 freethrows and made them all. Aside from that i was getting good double teams (for once) and picking gasol whenever he tried to post up, and salmons did an awesome job on kobe.
Going into the fourth i had a 12 point lead. Kobe tried to come alive, but bosh stepped up blocked his shots, got two huge put backs, and basiscally helped me win against a really good team by 8. Kobe scored 12 points in the 1st and 17 points in the 4th and finished with 35 points. Gasol had 8 in the first 6 in the second 2 in the 3rd and 4 in the 4th…mainlly because he was the one who fouled salmons the most. hinrich supplied 12 and 8 off the bench, while d.rose went for 12 and 14 assists. deng had 16 points….it was a pretty good game

Hmm
Yeah I might trade DJ hes never satisfied with his minutes for some reason. But all the important guys are at 100% morale. Cause it is the Bobcats after all not experiencing much winning before.
I was thinking about getting a superstar big man. Cause Okafor sometimes just gets it handed to him because he seems to be a PF to me. My SG might actually turn into a superstar though in the coming year. Just need to keep developing his defense then have him train his offensive game in the summer.
Hmm double cross I think I might have seen that play before or maybe just a variation of it. I use to have to set a ton of screens but now thats for my bench players since Felton-Mack-Wallace can create actually even Diaw and Okafor. (but I get stuck doing one on one sometimes and Okafor needs to be playing PF to be better effective in post up)
My teams fighting for the 6th spot right now. I want the 6th spot so then we avoid the Bulls 2nd round and also get the Celtics the first. They did take it to us the first time we played but we still are even with matchups. Diaw-KG -Perkins-Okafor and Pierce-Wallace.
And Feltons 3 point shot is coming along finally. I actually messed up a development…well not really messed up I had around 6 or 7 out of 10 attempts not go in and all of them were perfect releases so that set him back.
I agree 100%.
With just about everything. Summer league would be really cool this year. Thomas wouldn’t play, would he? Noah again? Rose? Two new draftees.
::sigh::

Can't imagine Tyrus will, but who knows
Maybe that aggressive slap on the ass was a sign of solidarity with Vinny? Wonder if Vinny will coach it himself again? Maybe they can send Lindsey Hunter.
As for Joakim:
He’s debating a short stint with the French national team, said he’d practice but not play with the Bulls’ summer league team and will train at the prestigious IMG Academy in Florida.
Man-slave, bring me my PB&J!
Will he train with Tyrus and Luol at IMG ?
Would be good if they could build some chemistry together down there.

Anyone else find it funny that the highest paid player on the team didn't
have one highlight the entire video. I think I even saw Tim Thomas in there at one point.

You mean Larry Hugues ?
Deng is at the beginning (even slashing to the basket).
