Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

this sums up Rondo pretty well.. He obviously pissed the dude off to get hammered like this, and then he gives us his best perfromance at simulating the injury...

That was as much a play on the ball as what he did to Brad Miller.

Looks like the other guy (Marvin?) got ejected.

Not stalking you, by the way :-)

The Game chose him !

It was actually *more* of a play on the ball.

The difference was the difference in size and the amount of contact. Rondo (little guy) hitting bigger guy in the face = less spectacular crash. Marvin (bigger guy) hitting Rondo at the top of his jump with his whole body = big crash right on his back. I forget which commentator said it, but I agree: it seems refs/the league care more about the outcome of the foul (how big a fall) than what caused it in determining flagrant calls. This, of course, is an asinine approach.

Dammit man! How can you do this to me?!!

I’m supposed to work today, now all I’m gonna be able to do is watch this video in a continuous loop for the rest of the day because it’s the greatest thing I’ve ever seen!

Hard playoff foul!

Can it be anything but that? Come on. He didn’t even need stitches. The guy made a play for the ball!

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

Rondo sells calls all the time

This one actually appears pretty bad, but the Miller foul in game 7 was so lame. Rondo just lied there waiting for the officials to call the F1.

i dont know if you guys are watching the denver/dallas

series, but kenyon martin got a F1 and just got fined for giving dirk a really hard shove to the floor.

Do you see him WINK to his teammate at the end? TWICE!

And it looks like he then mumbles “I’m Ok” after the wink!

by smash! on May 5, 2009 3:45 PM CDT reply actions

nah dude

That looked more like a twitch or a wince, rather than a wink. I couldn’t really tell what he mumbled either.

I can’t stand him just like the next guy, but I doubt he was over-embellishing or faking in that instance.

I don't know, looks like a wink to me.

Maybe he’s smarter than we think, embellishing the acting. I keep thinking about how if our guys were little bitches we could have gotten Rondo suspended. If Miller would have stayed down, or if Hinrich would have flailed like Nash did when he was pushed into the table… I don’t know if that would have made me satisfied or not, but I do still wonder…

Looked like a good case for a no call to me.
