Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

David Stern is an Idiot

Supposedly, the NBA is rigged to give the fans the matchups they want to see so they get high ratings. So not only does it not make sense to rig this for the Celtics, it didn't make sense when he suspended Amare and that other guy on the Suns (Leandro Barbosa?). The Celtics played so dirtily in this series since nothing was being called that NBA fans everywhere (except Boston) rooted for the Bulls. So what does Stern do? he makes sure the Bulls lose. This to me just makes no sense. The Bulls are a young, exciting team that is fun to watch, while the Celtics are an old, unathletic team that relies on thuggery, the refs, and flopping to win. I have no doubt they'll get destroyed by Orlando, and I will take satisfaction in the fact that, while they didn't lose to a huge underdog in the closest series of all time, they will get flogged by a team that should've had a tough time against them. Also, Glen Davis is probably really pissed at the TNT broadcasters who refuse to call him his name and instead insist on the worst nickname since Airy Butthole, "Big Baby". I look forward to the twenty-point margins against Orlando and the thirty-point margin on Christmas when Stern sets up a Bulls-Celtics rematch on Christmas day.

What all did Randa do tonight?

I was having dinner at my sister’s and much channel surfing was going on, I briefly saw he had a technical, but I have no idea why he got it or what else he did, if he did anything else.

noah floored him, and then miller also gave him a hard foul

i think he was then complaining about it which got him the technical.

did you see him throw the basketball at some woman's face?

She was a photographer and Rivers called a TO after Rondo threw a lazy pass and BG missed the 3. He took the ball and whipped it right into her face. ASSHOLE.

No I doubt it...

I noticed it right away. He was frustrated he couldn’t get the ball in so when rivers called a timeout he just whipped it behind him and hit some female photographer with glasses in the face. A few of the other photographers where checking to see if she was ok.

She tried to play it off like she was fine. He nailed her though. I played it back on the DVR and just started swearing at Rondo.

I’d be shocked if anyone else picked it up. It was at the bottom of the TV screen so who knows.

I think the league needs to watch this guy. He gets away with murder.

Saw that

he just kind of turned around after he did it and did a cursory are-you-ok? wave before going back to the game

hey it's just the Nature of the beast.

The calls we’re bad the whole series. But we got the #1 pick how did that happen? 1.7 % chance? Oh thats right. It’s entertainment. They control their product. Everyone knows by now, the NBA is fixed.

I’ll never forget the game 6 of the 2002 Lakers-Kings series ever since then I’ve had no doubt in my mind that the games are dictated by the refs. So I view it as entertainment not pure basketball. It’s somewhat like WE now.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3436401 what David Stern in this video it’s pretty interesting.

Doesn't make sense to be dissing the officiating for game 7 or 6 for that matter.

The Celtics got their share of bad calls you know. A particularly ridiculous one that comes to mind came when Rondo got a tech for bouncing the ball. Javie’s got an ego.

Right, and it was fair when Miller got a T for smiling in Game 6.

The entire series, the calls were in favor of the bitching, whining, obnoxious Celts, 3-1.

on the topic of those fouls

horry got suspended 2 games for hip checkin nash into the scorers table. rondo spins kirk and thorws him into and tries to elbow him, and gets nothing. plus anyone see haslem get ejected for a flagrant today? ridiculous how little there was on his foul compared to the 2 fouls rondo had.

I remember Michael dribbling at the top of the key. Everybody knew to just get the hell out of his way. - Steve Kerr
