My mom
Would of slapped me if I went to her house with a tattoo she told me not to get. But I guess it comes with being drafted no.1 and getting a contract for a million dollars.
This is encouraging actually. First I was surprised to see all his tattoos (and you know anyone gets whatever put on their bodies)
But I like his mindset thats why I was hoping the Bulls picked him no.1. Nothing agianst Beasley but he seemed pretty grounded.

What's more painful?
Getting a tat on your stomach or listening to a Derrick interview? ;)

I don't see much difference
between D Rose and around 80% of the rest of the NBA giving interviews.
I basically don’t notice because its been a while listening to him doing interviews. Thats just him (at least to the media)

I disagree
…yes, he’s our Point Guard! and all, but he can’t give an interview to save his life. Some media training down the road will do him some good.
But if he delivers a championship, then he can speak however he wants :-)

Disagree with which part?
Who doesn’t give an interview like that in the NBA? gotta be the minority. Who cares what theses guys talk like. Unless people think it translates on the court.
I don’t even see anything wrong with this interview either.
Maybe after a game he’ll say “both teams just played hard” every time or “[insert player name] hes a good player good guy”. But I dunno its just like hes not on 60 minutes or anything.
Wasn’t MJ not too different first starting out hes just quiet I don’t think it makes him a bad interview.
In this interview he just tells it like it is not much else to ask for. Maybe ask Noah to come in and dance or something.
Nah I really don’t care either way cause I just don’t see anything wrong with his interviews.

with the part
that 80% of the NBA gives interviews like that…they don’t, that’s false. I’m not saying that he can’t or won’t get better…lots of times it takes years to become media savvy (your MJ example)…so I think he’ll be fine.
Again…I don’t really think it matters to most of us at this point anyway.

Hows that false?
I think both are basically opinions

I mean anything basketball related about
or say after a game. The majority will use cliche phrases and be politically correct. And a lot go “uh” and “um”.
It almost sounds like when people talk about it they think hes one of the few. But I think its more because of his talent that he gets that attention. Like BG and his defense he gets a lot of attention for that because hes such a great scorer.

Derrick doesn't ennunciate and doesn't look remotely comfortable.
It’s not the content of his interviews, it’s the style.
I haven’t quantified the “uhhs” and “uhhms” – sure a lot of people (not just athletes) do that while collecting their thoughts, but Derrick’s seem excessive even by that standard.
And I agree with NvB that most of us couldn’t care less as far as his career is concerned, but it’s still incredibly painful to watch/listen to.

I used to think BG was a terrible interview
but he’s Alec Baldwin compared to Rose. Not that any of it matters.

only god can judge him
unless you got a promotion he doesn’t care what you think ; )

He doesn't have to care what I think
Just like I don’t have to pretend he’s a good interview just because he’s Derrick Rose.
And if you asked Derrick, I’m pretty sure he’s be satisfied with the fact that he got blessed with mad basetball talent, and I know I’d trade every ounce of public speaking ability I have for a skill that could earn me millions. :P
