Around SBN: Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire Vow To Fit In With Lin

Kirk has been a starting point guard since he's been in the league and this year, he moved to the bench," Gordon said. "I'm definitely sure he'd probably like to be back in that starting role and playing the way he's been playing in the past. So I don't know if (the lineup) has worked out that well. We still have a lot of guards that commanded a lot of minutes.

I like the idea of trading Kirk for ''lesser'' players, if you wanna call it that.

I know this has been talked of at nausea but I kinda like the Portland deal, Outlaw and Bayless or Rudy whatever they wanna do.

I think this season was about Rose developing into a NBA player, well check that box. I think next season should be about adding depth for a nice bench/rotation. Maybe a midlevel star if one could be had. Firing VDN and finding a coach.

2010 make Wade a Bull. I’d say Lebron but lets be serious if he wins a title with Cleveland I think he’ll remain with the Cavs. You can’t just stab your hometown in the gut like that. I don’t think.

Another positive for kirk fans is

that maybe the bulls can resign kirk in 2011 when hes a free agent and has a much cheaper contract….

Outlaw and Sergio

And it’s a deal. In all honesty. Trout and Sergio would thrive in VDN’s system. They are both very free flowing player that don’t mesh well with Nate’s strict plays. Sergio has been very held back by Nate and Travis is one of the best iso players in the NBA. Perfect for a crappy coach.

BG is sounding not so optimistic about the rotation that had some success in the playoffs

i’m wondering if he’s trying to say Kirk should be traded or he might be leaving this offseason?

A guy with no contract has no leverage for manoeuvrings like that.

He isn’t Kobe. Heck, Rose is the only guy who might have some tiny leverage on the team.

I think he is just continuing the conversation we’ve had all season. We have too many good guards. Now we have Rose, Gordon, Salmons, and Hinrich. That is too many. You don’t have to be scheming and plotting to point out that minutes jam. We need help in the PF/C area. It would be beneficial to turn one of those guys into a big or getting rid of one for expiring so we can free up $$ to get a big. Either way, we have four guys who could all be starters in the league. Not really the best thing to have going when your bigs are in need of an upgrade and we are cash strapped.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

Interesting to compare BG's quote here about the 3-guard lineup to

what he says in this video interview for Mouthpiece.com sports.

In the Daily Herald piece, he’s far more realistic and critical. Whereas in the Mouthpiece.com interview, all we get is, “Yeah, I really like the 3-guard lineup.”

It’s not clear whether the rest of the league has anything whatsoever to fear from the Bulls 3-guard lineup. We’ve seen this lineup shoot the Bulls back into games at least once or twice, and we’ve also seen Doc Rivers counter it by going small, rather than punishing the Bulls inside. But in the long run, common sense says the 3-guard lineup can’t be that much of an asset, otherwise why wouldn’t the Bulls always trot out 3 guards?

As for getting rid of the logjam, I’m still pushing for a trade of Kirk + filler for Steve Blake + filler.

technically

after deng got injured, the bulls did trot a three guard lineup every game (rose, gordon, salmons)
