I don't what's scarier, the fact that the Bulls were nearly eliminated because their coaches suck at math, or that it doesn't even crack the top 10 in the list of strategic blunders by Vinny Del Negro in this series.

I know Hollinger catches a lot of crap around here lately, but that's quote of the playoffs
We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look.

First of all, the link is busted.
Second, I just watched that replay of that part of the game (bc I was going nuts last night that we didn’t foul, but I was at the game so I didn’t have a reply to watch) and John Salmons clearly wrapped his arms around Allen before he shot- right in front of the official, clearly fouling him- but they just didn’t blow the whistle, then the next second he was squaring up, and you can’t foul him at that point bc all of a sudden, he’s shooting.
So yeah, they were supposed to foul. They even tried to foul. But I guess you have to draw blood to get a normal foul called in this series, and well, the Bulls just are not very good at being that dirty.
I was relieved that VDN at least instructed them to foul. Had there been no attempt to do so, I would want his head.
