Simmons on Celtics vs. Bulls, again
This about sums it up: "I am prepared for anything: KG pulling a Willis Reed, Jordan and Bird showing up, Rondo hitting John Salmons with a chair, Doc running the series-deciding play for Tony Allen, Kevin Harlan's head flying off his body, Tim Thomas experiencing a human emotion, you name it. That's the best thing about this series: Anything is possible. The ceiling hasn't just been removed, it's been obliterated."

heh, he nails the Tony Allen thing
I could not believe Doc reacted to Vinny going small like that. The Bulls WANT all their guards in!

I thought it was great.
He was spot on about it. The ceiling has been obliterated.

I'm just preparing myself to be let down tmorrow night.
There’s no way that game, save for a Bulls win, of course, can match this in excitement.

ha!
Jordan and Bird showing up,
Did anyone hear Kendall Gill talk about how he told John Salmons that Pierce can’t go left? And he heard Larry Bird talking about it on some show?
I could see Jordan texting something to Paxson’s blackberry like ‘’game seven, I’m back!’’
going into Bulls playoff lock down..now!

even more unlikely than Jordan and Bird, or KG pulling a Willis Reed
Luol Deng pulling a Willis Reed :)
(I stole that joke from RealGM)

On the Score this morning
They discussed Deng suiting up - a bunch of pontificating, naturally…
But I wonder what the effect would be for Boston to have Luol not in street clothes for game 7, even if he doesn’t play.
I guess not as scary as Bulls seeing Garnett in uniform for game 7.
Nevermind.

I hope he doesn't play
He was playing awful when we last saw him, and the last thing we need is Vinny trying to figure out how to work him into the rotation in a Game 7.

God
Simmons continues to amaze….is he anywhere else besides ESPN’s Page 2? I always enjoy his writing.
Ok so Vinny seems to have the X's down.....now he needs to learn the O's.

Amen
I don’t even care what happens after Game 7; we can’t beat the LeBrons anyway. This is our NBA Finals. Right here. The Celtics fans feel that way, and so do the Bulls fans. I can promise you.
I don’t even care if the Bulls get swept by Orlando in the 2nd round; I just want them to knock off the Celtics. Other than Ray Allen, that’s the most unlikable team in the league.

Ray Allen is all kinds of class.

He's just a killer
I mean, I always knew he was a great player, but I had no idea he was this clutch. Jesus, he scored 50 points last night, and hardly anyone mentioned it because there were so many other storylines coming out of the game.

Plus it's Anderson Verajao
With all that flopping that guy does, he probably deserved a nutshot.

That's the best way I've seen this series explained
This is all that matters, winning THIS SERIES. I just love it. Props to Simmons, normally some of his stuff bugs me, but he is great at writing about hoops and he’s really nailed the fan perspective of watching this series.

I care. I want Orlando.
I want that fat, train-wreck of a coach, mock-turtle neck and all. I want to take advantage of Howard’s idiocy in taking out his own player- Courtney Lee- who was playing fab, and giving them a real chance to be a dynamic team, before having his nostrils fractured by Howard’s elbow. I want to see Noah play defense on Howard- This Noah, who’s playing unbelievable, out of his mind, D right now- not the one who was worked by Superman earlier in the year. I want to go visit my family in Florida and attend a game in person, because there are few sadder NBA cities where you can easily scalp playoff tickets for pennies. And most importantly, I want to watch Rose and Tyrus and Noah and really everyone else, develop, and grow into a team that believes in itself.

You didn't spend half your childhood in stinkin' Florida:)
But I don’t hate the Magic. Didn’t say that. I just want more Bulls basketball this year, period.

Noah isn't playing good defense on Kendrick Perkins... Do you really want to see him guarding
Howard? I’m excited to see Gray use 6 fouls on Howard in 12 minutes.

Well we know the league doesn't mind suspending Howard
Who better to piss of Superman?

His best line...
is clearly the Rondo hitting Salmons bit. At this point it really wouldn’t surprise me if during the opening introductions Salmons is running through the team line give high-fives and all of a sudden Rondo comes flying in from the Celtic bench with Garnett’s folding chair and smacks him right across the face. The refs convene to decide whether you can commit a foul before the game starts or not and they assess Salmons a Technical for having the gall to run his face into Rondo’s chair.
Between Rondo’s whip on Hinrich and Big Baby’s flop from Miller’s forearm I could totally confuse these games with an Ultimate Warrior – Brutus “The Beefcake” Barber match.

That was a seriously awesome article
I don’t always like Simmons, but he nailed that one. And of course we all know exactly what he meant from the games that went the Cs way.

Ah, good old Simmons
He’s the best when his teams aren’t obliterating everyone and winning titles left and right.
